Not Auburn...

If we played them on Jan 1... Yeah we would have.

Let me guess, they wouldn't be motivated for that game, either?

You did see a healthy Bama defense right?
You also played them at a neutral site and not Jordan Hare.
If you also think that they were motivated in their Bowl game as much as they were motivated in the Iron Bowl then that's hilarious.
I'm not making excuses for Bama losing. It's part of the game. We lost, they played better. Injuries happen, home field advantage is a thing.
If you want to get serious though Bama beats Auburn on Jan 1 just as many times or more than UCF does.

That's all conjecture. What's factual is that UCF beat Auburn by 7 and Alabama lost to Auburn by 12.

No, but you're making claims that are not backed by evidence. I'm making claims that are.
If you say you'd crush us or you'd crush Auburn, that's a conjecture.
If I say we'd have a chance against you because we beat Auburn who beat you, that's factual.

You can't claim a CFP-era national title when the best teams you played had at least 3 losses and weren't playoff contenders.
EDIT: I guess USF went 10-2 and didn't even play for a conference title.

Memphis finished with 3 losses, but 2 of them were to us.
How many games did FSU lose in 1996?

FSUKW wrote:Furthermore, if the CFB playoff committee decided to change things by adding G5 teams to the current 4 team model, it would fuck college football up forever. We would lose all the tough match ups. College football as we know it would be forever pussified. We are already fucking up the bowl tradition with the current model. NY6 games are not as relevant or hyped as before. JMO.

8-5 Iowa State beat them. Army beat the 3rd or 4th best AAC team (Navy, IIRC, is AAC).
10-2 USF lost to 7-5 Houston and very nearly lost to a 6-7 Texas Tech team.
FSU went 1-1 against the accepted national champions that season, 10-0 against the rest including 2 top 15 teams (by season's end). But FSU isn't desperate to claim titles or that certainly could be a shared national title. FSU went 8-0-0 in 1950 but we don't claim a national title that year because it would be retarded.

You have a lot of "what ifs" and hypothetical in your take.
Here are some facts:
- UCF had an undefeated season
- UCF is the only team that accomplished this
- UCF defeated the same number of top 25 teams as Alabama
- UCF defeated the same number of bowl teams as Alabama (6) despite playing in 1 fewer games in the regular season
- The final win % of teams defeated before the bowls: UCF (53%), Alabama (54%)
- Common opponent: UCF 34 - Auburn 27 | Alabama 14 - Auburn 26
- Losses: UCF (0) | Alabama (1)

I could beat the shit out of a 4th grader, but that will never make me an MMA Champion.
