Not unless Oregon or Bama lose... or look really, really bad.

Bama could beat Chattanooga by 1 point and still get first place votes. That's how fucking stupid the voters are.

2004 Auburn. 2013 FSU is in that exact situation right now, and it's seriously ridiculous given whom we've played and beaten compared to Alabama and Oregon. The fact that Alabama still gets so many first place votes truly disgusts me and makes me hate people on here that think Alabama should be #1 until they lose WHEN LAST SEASON DOESN'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS SEASON! At best Alabama should be #2 based on what they've done this season. Their schedule is a bad joke.
Human polls are totally screwing us. You'd be pissed, too, if your destiny was in the hands of people who think that pedigree is more important than performance (and Oregon doesn't even have a decent pedigree).

Motherfucking this. It's absolutely infuriating seeing the ignorance of these voters...it's even more pathetic than the people who still vote for incumbents in political elections.

I have no hate towards Bama, because it's not their fault. And I've actually always liked Alabama, because they've always had a strong connection with FSU via Bowden, Andrews and now even the Saban/Fisher connection. So Bama fans don't get this confused with hatred towards you, that is simply not the case (at least for me; I can't speak for anyone else). It's the voters that are fucking everything up and voting based on bullshit preseason shit and history, when neither of the two should have a bearing on the current rankings.

The problem is the system. Can you honestly tell me that ranking Alabama, FSU, and Oregon in any particular order is better than any other particular order? They all look really good right now and there's no telling who would win games between them. If all three win out, they all deserve a chance to play for a championship. The same goes for Ohio St and yes, even Baylor.

If any of the 5 win out, they should have a shot at the title. Any of the 5 would have a gripe over being left out, regardless of SOS.

No you can't canes. But till the champ is beaten, there is no reason for me to move them. Fsu is number 2 over oregon right now for sure though. Champ is the champ. Alabama has done nothing worthy of removing their crown.

I can see your point, but it's faulty logic. For example, let's say Alabama had Northern Illinois's resume. They're undefeated, but would you say they should stay at #1?

And if Alabama should be at #1 because they are the defending champ, they why shouldn't Ohio St be at #2, since they were undefeated last season?

I think each season should stand on its own.

The champ from two years ago was beaten last year yet they remained number 1 :thought

No reason to keep the faux champion at number 1 :lolthumb

Wait, what?
Are you saying the 2011 champion (Alabama) was beaten in 2012 (by TAMU) and remained #1?

Bama didnt get number 1 after a loss. This season bama has done zero to remove their status of best in the country. They are the dynasty and have absolutely earned the right to number 1 till proven otherwise. Same as if oregon or Fsu are champs, and return most starters, it would be wrong to remove them. Bama isn't given false respect, they earned it.

What you're failing to realize is that last year's games should have no bearing on this year. It's a completely separate season, completely separate team, and completely separate opponents.

So let's say (hypothetically) Bama just barely scrapes by their remaining opponents, looking very unimpressive. Meanwhile, FSU and Oregon continue to thrash everyone they play...would you still contend that Bama deserves that number 1 spot because how how they played LAST YEAR? If so, you lose all credibility.

The only difference between now and that hypothetical is that Bama hasn't been scraping by, but FSU has been blowing out superior competition while Bama has not (which, granted, isn't entirely their fault). But we should not be penalized because of something Bama did last year or the year before.

If a huge CFB fan was, say, in a coma up until now. He awoke and you presented to him the stats and opponents from Bama, Oregon and FSU without telling him which is which...who do you think he's going to rank number 1? It's no question. Blowout wins @ then #3 (now #7) and against #7 (now #11)? Versus a close game against then #6 (now 2-loss #15) or a Blowout win against then 1-loss #12 (now #19).

FSU has BY FAR the most impressive resume of anyone in the country right now, but the preseason and SEC/Bama bias is keeping us down. It's a total farce that we are not ranked number one right now.

I love it when people on the web overuse the word ignorant. The words that describes it.... Ironic :dog the voters are more knowledgeable than you. It's their job retard.

Oh and this is all coming from the kid who thought Clemson was going to smoke fsu... Yeah... You know more than the ap voters... Dumbass

Just because it's someone's job does not necessarily make them more knowledgable. I suppose congressmen know more about the constitution than I do because "it's their job"? Ha, good one.

And part of being a good voter is recognizing when your preseason expectations were wrong. And when evidence presents itself that a team is clearly better than thought (FSU) one must adjust their rankings accordingly. I didn't think FSU was going to get smoked, but I didn't think they'd win; however, they have proven that to be far from the truth and as a result they deserve the respect and higher ranking.

I love the fact that you use my opinion change on FSU as evidence that I DONT know more than an AP voter, when in fact it means just the opposite. What's the word for that again? :thought oh yeah, ironic.

Eat it, bitch.
