FSU's backup QB, Coker, having knee surgery

With this in mind, do you think defenses out there are going to start keying up on Winston, knowing that if you take him out, you will probably beat FSU?

Defenses have been playing with that mentality all year. How has it worked out so far?

Have they been playing with that mentality? Right now, knowing that their backup QB is out and knowing that one good hit (or one dirty hit) could basically give a team a chance to win a game against FSU, might make teams more inclined to do so. I'm not saying it's right or that a team should go into a game with that mentality.

I was honestly more impressed with our 3rd string, Sean Maguire. Coker has looked like complete dogshit all year; granted, he plays behind a pretty bad 2nd string o-line and has freshman receivers, but even in the few snaps Maguire had in the WF game he looked way better than Coker has all year.

I'm not worried. Our 1st string o-line and NFL receivers can make almost any QB look like a stud. Not to mention our trio of running backs.

Saying that a team would "probably" beat FSU without Winston would not be wise. Winston doesn't play defense (which is fucking nasty this year, BTW), and like I already alluded to, the back up has one of the best o-lines in the country and a wealth of talent to work with. Would it hurt our chances without him? Absolutely. Would it guarantee defeat? Not a chance.

Coker was #2 for a reason. If Jameis goes down, this could be 1998 all over again.
