If Stanford had lost to a really good team it would be one thing. But they did get beat by a relative nobody while OSU is still a big six...if it was like Boise I'd still put stanford in front. OSU deserves to be in front. Now say Stanford lost to Oregon in double overtime and won out...I'd say they deserved it based on challenge of schedule.
