Exactly the coach we thought he was.

Awful. Man this team looks like UF the last eight years. Badly coached and lost.

You are out of your fucking mind. We do not look like a 4-8 team.

I said eight years.

Which includes good and bad years. The consistent was the teams looked lost, not prepared, outmatched on the oline, and baffling coaching decisions.

All..are on display at FSU right now. It could change of course..but so far that's what I'm seeing.

OP also said Taggart couldn't recruit. :dog

If we are bad enough to lose to UF, OP might be right this time.

UF has a proven head coach. You got a shitty coach who's been known to be bad on game day for years...yea he is bad. Horrible. This guy couldn't win in the Pac 12. So glad as I've said before that we didn't hire him. We hired MSUs best coach in history who produced some of the best SEC offenses at UF in history. You got a good recruiter though not as great as you guys believe, who sucks on game day. Notice zero adjustments? Because he doesn't know how.

The balance has shifted. Rivalry always has this happen. UF is taking over for 4-5 years than FSU will take over for 4-5 years.

He's a better recruiter than literally anyone on UF's staff.

He is

And a significantly worse coach than our head coach.

Our staff is also significantly better. See how terribly coached you team looks? This staff made Miss State functional in the SEC West. Now they have UF talent.

Mullen is proven. Best coach in a schools history. Taggart is good at recruiting...and not really much else. 24-3 at home vs Tech.

If Mullen loses like this trust me I'll be worried to.

As for laughing at the 4-5 year thing. It's actually a point made long ago my muck and RN. This rivlary is cyclical. And by the looks of it. It's UFs turn.

We can't all play a high school team to open. You have done nothing to prove you're "back"...... :2thumbs

We aren't back.

Not close to it yet. We do have a proven coach. Who's done a lot with little talent at the worst school in the SEC. Now he has UF talent. Can only rationally conclude he probably does better

Unlike many here and nearly everyone at Tomahawknation. Here is what could have happened differently. I am not making excuses, simply trying to stay positive.

1) Noonie Murry scored a TD. That's 7 missed
2) We missed an easy FG. That's 3 missed
3) Akers lets a guy catch him from behind and tackled within the 5 yard line - that is basically 7 missed

So - 17 missed easy points. 20-23 VT with this theory.

4) We had 5 trips to the end zone (and here is my slam on coaching) - shitty goal line play calling.
5) The VT blocked punt for a TD. I say shitty special teams or a no call on running into the kicker (could have been 7 they don't get but they got it)
6) Francois trying to force things caused some late turnovers that probably don't ordinarily happen (5 total not all on him) He played well enough.
7) look up the stats. Statistically we were as good if not better. (I know, only stat is the score)
8.) Could not move the ball out of our own end zone - play calling again.

Turnovers and goal line play calling cost us this game. OL is shit but we still had many opportunities to score. Is it inept coaching or just being conservative game one? Don't know. We are probably staring down the barrell of 7-5 (8-5 or 7-6 after bowl)

Just staying positive not making excuses..... :dog

247 is blowing up. Honestly I just don't see it. He looked lost and here's what should worry you guys. He generally seemed surprised how bad the team looked. Same with Mac vs Michigan. He generally didn't have a clue his team had this many issues. It's alarming.

I know that cbs polled random coaches, and Tagg was considered the most overrated in the Nation in terms of head coaches. I just don't see a great coach. It's not like I changed takes when he got hired. I was fully against him coming to UF as well and there are threads here proving it as well as Secrant I can post. Generally don't get how he got a job as good as FSU.

Iffy = fully against?

First game under a completely new system with no OL (and several injuries to the OL during the game). I expected some growing pains, and yes it was much worse than I anticipated, but I'm not gonna throw in the towel after one game. A certain fanbase had full faith in the likes of Muffchomp and Horsetooth for a good two years each. Gonna need to see some serious improvement though... :toetap

I might need a straightjacket to watch the Clemson and ND games. :dog

I got banned from 247 for my thoughts on Mac and Staff. Champ I wanted so badly to succeed til the last year when it was clear. Such a likeable players coach. Glad he is doing well at USCE. Mac ..fuck I tried to support him hard because UFs coach but he..just no one truly liked him. He had no support to stay for a reason.

Look FSU has had a long time of great head coaches..it's time you got a bad hire damn it lol

He's definitely the worst USF coach to win 11 games or win 7 conference games.
