Prequel-haters ruined Star Wars

Postby FuckESPNdotCOM » October 9th, 2017, 5:22 pm

George Lucas credits the internet trolls who bashed him for over a fucking decade as responsible for making him sell Star Wars to Disney.

Ever since then, Star Wars has gotten measurably worse. TFA was not only a bad Star Wars film, but just a bad, bad film in general with no risks (other than PC pandering) that was entirely dependent on nostalgia. It also made a bunch of great stories after 6 non-canon and didn't use a single one of them. Rogue One was okay, but still not a movie living up to the original six.

It's fucking pathetic when George Lucas is ripping you apart for making bad movie decisions. This guy made Jar Jar Binks, Greedo shoots first, and Ghost Hayden, and he's saying you (Disney) are stupid remaking the previous movie(s) for fan service.

Thank you, you manchild faggots for hating on the prequels so much that not only did you psychologically-scar and ruin a young actor's life (Jake Lloyd), but you ruined one of the greatest movie franchises of all time.

The prequels were much worse than the new ones.

I'd say Star Wars seems to be doing just fine. The only issue I have is that they keep using the same plot. How many times can we see a "Death Star" blown up?

Also, Star Wars is on television damn near every weekend. I have to believe Jake Lloyd's residual checks are not bouncing.... :thought

I'm talking about story quality, not monetary earnings. Star Wars has always been a cash cow. I'm also pretty sure Jake Lloyd doesn't want to be a part of Star Wars: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/ar ... -hell.html He's gotten in trouble with the law and now has schizophrenia, probably from all the bullying prequel-hating shitstains like Craig put him through.

The Death Star was supposed to be in Episode 6, but since Lucas didn't know whether he'd get a trilogy, he put it in the Episode 4. The reason it was in 7 was because Disney sucks ass and they and Hollywood are genuinely afraid of original ideas at this point: If it's not a sequel or reboot, it's not getting released.

Who still watches cable TV? Paying or stealing cable isn't worth the ads they force down your throat. Netflix and pretty much every streaming service is better and cheaper. Come on.

Yes it's not part of that story. It's still a Star Wars movie.

When my son was younger, we watched Star Wars: The Clone Wars the cartoon and we attempted to watch Star Wars Rebels but he got older and he grew out of it. I only watched it because he liked it and we watched it together. They had some pretty decent story lines - like how light sabers are powered and made or how Boba Fett grew up after his dad died and the hatred he stewed on his entire youth.

The only problem with the prequels is the bar was set so high with the originals. (they were way ahead of their time)

The Clone Wars cartoon had some really good story arcs. There's a 3-episode story where Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Ahsoka (Anakin's padawan) end up on some spacehip/planet place and encounter these three beings: Father, Son, and Daughter. Son is like the personification of the dark side, Daughter is the personification of the light side, and Father is the balance between the two. There's a part where Anakin is shown by Son that he will become Vader and all the things he'll do. Great episode.

There's another 3-episode arc where Yoda has to try and learn how to become one with the force. He meets these force priestesses who set him on these different tasks, one of which is Yoda having to fight the dark side version of himself. Also a good story.

Plus, The Clone Wars cartoon also gives us a much better version of Anakin than the movies. He comes off as a badass, rather than a whiny teenager.

I knew when Disney bought I wouldn't pay to see it, and I never did. My family took me to see it. It was about as I expected: a subpar effects flick that shit all over the Expanded Universe and insulted its viewers. I still can't believe it has an 8.1 on IMDB.
