I would imagine he was pissed because he wasn't sure what was going on...it appeared as if Hart was laying on top of him, in a scuffle, until the replay showed that he was actually being held down.

Later in the game ESPN actually caught them making up. They were smiling and Jimbo patted him on the back.

If you notice in these pictures his hand is under the top bar of the facemask. You can see the garnet line above his glove. If he was really going for the eyes, why would he go through the facemask, instead of over it?

With his between the facemask, not over it, I don't even think he could get to the eyes. If the fingers on his left hand were extending, they would be closer to Hart's mouth than his eyes. If you look at how a facemask is positioned on the face, the eyes are up towards the top. Not below the bar.

Now, look at the following picture of Bobby Hart's facemask setup. Chickillo's hand would have to be pretty low on the facemask, because there's no way his fingers would fit between the top two bars. That puts his fingers just about in line with Hart's mouth. If he's trying to gouge eyes, he's doing it really wrong.

"I don't care if a guy hits you, bites you, kicks you, anything - you don't do anything," Fisher said. "That serves you no good. Take your pride and put it in your back pocket. … There's nobody that's more intense and if I was that age I'd have been right in the middle of it and I know that. I was trying to get our guys out of there before something stupid happened and that's not what we want to do."

Fisher also said he put the kibosh on Jameis Winston when his starting quarterback came over to try and explain what happened to Hart during the altercation.

"He was trying to tell me what happened and I said I don't care what happened," explained Fisher. "It doesn't matter what happened. We're not fighting. That's what happened."

"It's like you see a fight in a bar or on the street," Fisher said. "Running in there and helping, most of the time you're going to be involved. You're going in the police report. The officials, once they see it, everyone's out."

Fisher said FSU wouldn't ask the ACC to look into any of the incidents in the game - despite television replays that appeared to show Chickillo's hands inside Hart's facemask.

... because there's nothing there to look at.

... there's a big difference between hands in the facemask holding someone down and gouging someone's eyes.

I've presented evidence that shows that Chickillo's fingers were between the facemask, not above it. I also posted a picture of Bobby Hart, so that you guys can see the layout of his facemask. The first open spot for a hand to go in sits so low on the face that it would be pretty impossible to gouge eyes from that position.

It's pretty obvious. He grabbed onto the facemask (shown in your cherry-picked photos), then extends his fingers and pushes upward with his right hand. It pushes Hart's head back, even though 'Killa is still pulling with the left hand.
