That there will be 4+ undefeated teams from major conferences this year? Has that ever happened?

Its possible.

2009

Alabama
Cincinatti
TCU
Texas
Boise State

entering Bowl Season

It can happen. But the only thing that no one considers in the BCS race is pressure. When teams move up, and they haven't been there before, they stop playing aggressive, and start playing not to lose.

i.e. Kansas State and Oregon 2012
i.e. Boise State, Oklahoma State, Stanford in 2011

All they had to do was win out. But the pressures of staying at the top got the most of them. Its easy to sit at #4,5,6,7,8,9,10 with 4 weeks left in the season, because your mindset is "Hey, all we need to do is win out". But a team or 2 ahead of you loses(ahem, Alabama), and you move up to #1,2,3.... all of a sudden you start thinking "Well we cant afford to lose now".

That's why upsets are starting to happen. And they will continue all the way through the last week of the season.

Ohio State is about to start feeling that pressure. So are Oregon, FSU, and Alabama. Even though I personally think Alabama is so used to being in this situation, I think they will handle it just fine. Its about to start racketing up though. Still have 3 rivalry games to go. Luckily for Alabama, 2 of them are at home. Oregon has UCLA, Stanford, and Oregon State, which will probably be a huge game this year. FSU has 2 rivalry games left, with Miami and Florida. Even though Michigan is slacking this year, you cant ignore the fact that they have YET to lose at home under Brady Hoke.

All I'm saying is that its possible. But the pressure is just now starting to build.
