Does anyone have a theory on how FSU got so bad? I could see like 5-7 or something but how are they this bad, it is absolutely nuts.

Worst top 10 team of all time and it is not even close.

It’s been a historically bad year for them. Started 13-0 last year and since they are what… 1-8? 1-9?I hope they beat Florida lol

1. Refusing to fire bad assistant coaches.
2. Jordan Travis hid the poor development of the OL, which got exposed like a mf this year (DJU is slow af, freshman QBs are "deer in headlights"... though LK looks to be improving faster and has more upside, assuming he doesn't transfer).
3. Mediocre recruiting and poor development were somewhat hidden by repeatedly hitting the jackpot in the portal. The opposite happened this year. After getting many under-the-radar kids who where hungry and looking to prove themselves, we got higher-rated dudes who were more concerned with NIL (fuck NIL) money, and have not only ruined this team, but also ruined their draft prospects.

The defense is not as bad as they look on paper. All the turnovers, 3-and-outs, and failure to keep the offense on the field have made the defense look worse than they are statistically. The only defensive coach who absolutely must go, IMO, is Randy Shannon.

The offense is an absolute dumpster fire. Everyone must go.

Special teams is among the best in the nation. :dunno I think our kicker and punter are gone after this season, though...

Honestly, we lost 13 guys to the NFL. Long story short, unlike most teams who lose numbers to the NFL, nobody behind them on the depth chart was developed. Our stud starters last year consisted mostly of transfer players who were apparently developed at their prior schools.

Fast forward, we thought we were transfer magicians in 2023 and could strike gold twice in 2024 but we got mostly entitled, money seeking duds.

Having arguably the worst OL the last several years was hidden by Jordan Travis and Keon Coleman, Johnny Wilson and Trey Benson. To name a few. (All transfers)

Then…..we add in a coach who won’t relinquish the play calling or fire these coaches who can’t coach. His play calling is atrocious this year for some reason.

I would mention moving on from Cam Ward to DJU but I feel any QB would suffer behind this OL so even though he was a shitty recruit, it is not all entirely DJU’s fault. The QB’s behind him aren’t doing much different. (OL can’t hold a block fir more than 1.5 seconds)

Lastly, our receivers can’t catch. We lead the league in drops. I think we’re somewhere around 30 drops. If even a few of those are caught we are probably 4-5 right now. Maybe 5-4.

Money is an issue. I think our highest NIL earner is like 650K (back up QB too) where as most of the teams in the Top 10 have multiple 7 figure players. What does that tell you.

Defense is much improved but they are on the field too long because of the offense.

Fire them all but our DB coach and hire a stud DC and OC. Obviously turn the play calling over and be more of a CEO type of coach.

There’s a theory that something’s wrong with DJ’s head. Like he had some traumatic event happen his life. He’s an emotionless non leader.

He was previously injured and it’s obvious he was not the same 100% DJ. Coaches should have saw this 7 games ago. He was still the wrong choice.

My theory is set aside 5 to 7 million and go shopping. Go BUY 5 to 7 corn fed, 315 pound midwestern offensive linemen and build around that with basically any high 3 to 4 star QB who actually has time to make a decision. Like BC’s QB.

The offense is completely putrid diarrhea left sitting in a toilet for 3 months. We would have beaten Duke if Brock Glenn didn't insist on throwing the ball to the other team :suicide . Outside a few bad performances, our defense has been good, but no defense can hold up when the offense goes 3-and-out 4+ times a game.

This year is the first time FSU has ever lost to Duke. Ever. And it's because our offense is fucking horse shit. Even Chef Bowden wasn't this bad.

Norvell has made plenty of bad playcalls, at least 1-3 per game. The difference is our players were phenomenal before. The onside kick against Moral Gables last year was an absolute dumbass call that would have cost us the game if Moral Gables didn't suck. Atkins needs to go. Norvell needs to take his head out of his ass and fire himself as OC, too. Dumb piece of shit is ruining a program because of his stubbornness.
