It's because in cases of a natural disaster schools are you used for evacuation zones and are all shut down this week in the whole state. No H.S. games were played either. :up

LOL - it was the biggest on record. Over 400 miles wide. 4 times the size of Andrew. The only hurricane to literally affect the entire state. Many in Florida are still without power. I know people in Orlando who just got their power back yesterday.

I'd say they made the right call.

And still was not even close to being as bad as they were predicting. I heard things like "the damage is going to be unimaginable" on the weather channel. Ok...

Which is better

Predicting what is likely to happen, and looks like should happen with the size of the system (what they did)...
And have it turn out to be not that bad...


Or say "it's cool, probably won't be that bad"


And have it turn out to be "that bad".

They weren't doing it for money.
