So if we can be reasonable for a moment (excuse me while I forget where I am)... you have to acknowledge the following things:
- none of us have, with our own eyes, seen direct proof of the geometric shape of the earth
- we are told that the world is round by the same class of people that we know have no qualms about lying to us, it if suits them
- there are some points raised by the flat earthers that have yet to be answered satisfactorily
- there are also some silly points raised by the flat earthers that I don't think helps their cause (for example: "If the earth is moving so fast, why don't we feel it?" That one is easy: for the same reason why we don't feel that we're going 500+ mph when we're in an airplane. We only feel it when it takes off, lands, or if it experiences turbulence. Otherwise, we're just feeling the cramped seats. Humans don't feel velocity. We only feel changes in velocity, also known as acceleration.)
If you listen to the case made by the flat earthers with an open mind, I think you'll find it to be a compelling case. Some of the stuff is a stretch, but there's some of it that I think is really valid and raises cause to doubt that the earth is a sphere (sorry, pear-shaped.)
What is also of interest, is if the flat earthers are true, that is a strong case in favor of the validity of Christianity, since the Bible describes the earth as being flat and the center of the universe. And, as a non-religious person, I am certainly not looking to give credence to Christianity or the Bible, but as a man of science, I have to listen if someone presents a valid point and backs it up.
