Two convicted murderers (who are both doing life stretches I think) escaped a maximum security facility in NY.

It hosts miles of underground tunnels that are pretty much a maze which they navigated, then used power tools to cut through a steam pipe that led to a sewer system which they followed far enough to climb up through a manhole clear of the 30 or 60 foot wall that surrounds the facility.
