I thought they were stupid as in stupid on direct TVs part.

They are supposed to be wanting the cable customers to swap over to their product. What are they doing to make that happen? Insulting them over and over again.... Makes complete sense...

"In the third quarter of 2014, DirecTV lost 28,000 subscribers," writes Stephen Battaglio in the Los Angeles Times. "In the following quarter, when the campaign started its run, the company gained 149,000 subscribers. The figure was a steep increase from the 93,000 who signed up in the fourth quarter of 2013."

Advertisement is only about getting the products name in peoples heads. It's why basically every ad you see now has fucking nothing to do with the product. It's about gimicks to get in the head of everyone. If you can make your slogan a catch phrase with a series of commercials...you win.

What, did people actually believe that subscribing Direct TV would turn them into regular Rob Lowe? :dunno

And if so, WHY would they want that?

No it says that his commercials are suggesting that directv has lower customer service wait time, better service quality or whatever, and better sound while they provide no factual proof.

So people just think that they are getting better stuff when there is no proof that they are
