ESPNs corruption of sports

Postby SoonerDragon » September 23rd, 2013, 8:08 pm

ESPN started out as a good thing with opening commentary on sports and a place where we could find out what's going on with the sports we love. Somewhere through the years, they have lost their ability to be objective and play a hand in skewing perceptions and bending/directing sports (especially cfb) in a direction they want it to go. They have monopolized the media market in cfb - all but two or three bowl games were on ESPN - and they're starting to work their way into the NFL.

My question is, how do we reduce their influence in sports? It's become ridiculous with the amount of their influence.

the amount of bias displayed by espn towards the Pac12 especially USC is a joke

they plug and pump usc every chance they get (because they are broadcasting their games on disneyradio)

i cant stand espn as a sports network becuase they only cover what benefits them

We need a good alternative to spring up and challenge them.
They've pretty much monopolized the sports media market.

It's not even to the pac-12 as a whole. Just USC.

Yea i know, and the mention every usc game they are going to broadcast on radio every five minutes

i get that they are trying to get people to listen but their job is still to cover all of the major news and teams of all the sports

the ammount of usc coverage and talk is just uncalled for, sure its a huge media market

but why not talk about ucla or something else

sadly fox nor cbs nor anyone else is ready to challenge espn as the top dog

I completely agree, not even as a UCLA homer, but as a sports fan. I can understand being upset by WSU getting a lot of coverage, but aren't people supposed to report on things that are relevant?

Blehhhh.
