Like 90% of the time the title, especially the Heavyweight aka major titles change on PPVs in the Main Events.

A lot of times (especially with bad booking) the champion is defeated but in a non title match, or they lose via interference, or DQ therefore the title doesn't change hands that way UNLESS its a special match

Back during the Monday Night wars, when it was Raw vs Nitro, they would have even the world championship change hands on the Monday night show. I know they did it a few times on Nitro.

:nuhuh That's part of why WCW took the ratings edge for like 2 years. Betwen that and the NWO, Nitro was more entertaining to watch that Raw. WCW went out of business because they made a string of bad decisions behind the scenes.

WCW really was awesome for awhile but NWO wasn't as cool as DX.

I disagree. They didn't do the same antics that DX did, but the cool thing about the NWO was watching to see who would be the new person to join that week.

Wcw owned wwf back in the day. They came on an hour earlier so I would always watch Wcw then catch the end of wwf but my favorite wrestler was always Bret hart from wwf.

A few things worth mentioning. Rey mysterio beating bam bam bigelow and Kevin Nash was awesome. La parka as the "chairman" of Wcw always cracked me up. Those Mexican matches were fuckin awesome.

No, you can give away free money matches for a bit of time, but when it comes down to time to havin to start needing people to buy your PPV's then why would/should they when you've been giving them free PPV matches for 1-2 years, and they can just wait one more day and see the replay on Monday and get a PPV like title match on Monday night?

Also when your title is switching hands constantly, and when the title holder is losing constantly then the title and the champion is deemed less prestigious, and the champion isn't deemed as legitimate nor worth seeing when you see him constantly. They should be seen but only at the bare minimum to get you interested and wanting more, and wanting to pay money to see them.

So yes wcw gave away title and PPV matches and they won some battles.... Yet WWF won the war with the right decisions being made over the long haul.

They only had big matches like that every once in awhile. It's not like every week they had the championship change hands. They did it enough to make people wonder what kinda shit was going to go down on Nitro. Stuff like that is what put them on top. Bad business decisions behind the scenes is what killed it. And really, the biggest thing that killed it was when Turner's company merged. They didn't want to own WCW anymore. WCW as a company could have thrived under the right management. Instead, they just wanted to get rid of it ASAP and Vince was a willing buyer.
