After the game

Foley came to the field, ran down the sideline, found Franklin. Shook his hand and talked for a minute.

Pretty sure we will be going after him very soon...Foley has never done that. Not once.

Actually I wouldn't mind. He turned Vandy around and made them a consistently good program. He recruits well as well. Why wouldn't I? Not my first choice(Briles), but we won't get Peterson, Briles, or Strong. Petrino would be awesome dude straight wins but the boosters nor Foley would take him in because of his character issues. Don't really know who else we would be able to go for..we have the money and name power, but not a massive list of good coaches up for grabs. I'd say he would be a good choice. Players love him, recruits love him, he knows the game.

two straight bowls, going most likely on a third with the programs first win over UF in 20+ years. Two straight bowls is remarkable at Vandy. Seems you don't know much about football though so why would I expect you to know that. Finished ranked the first time since WW2. Moron.

That's mediocre at best. Nowhere close to "consistently good." And 2 seasons completed is hardly consistency. Man, do you read what you write, you dumb piece of shit?

You really are the least knowledgeable person on this site. Including MD. Bowling is good, going on three years is consistent. At one of the worst if not the worst BCS program.

Learn football before you talk dumb shit.

First winning record in SEC play since 1982
His third bowl this year would be equal to all Vandy coaches since 1974 if he makes it
Vandy isn't a whipping boy anymore. They are actually a pretty solid team.
.625 win perc last year is the best at Vandy since 1935

yea...bad coach

I'm sure Tennessee and Kentucky going down the toilet had nothing to do with it.

The best thing he has done is they are competitive. Only one real bad game vs the Aggies 56-24. Outside of that even the loses they played till the end. That is something you haven't said about Vandy in a very long time.

Still, not saying this is the absolute have to get coach. Just saying he has done enough to merit at least a look at from high power programs. Wouldn't have any issue hiring him.

Honestly wouldn't be a bad hire. Miss State fans seem to whine about him yet he is the most successful coach at that school in fifty freaking years. Wouldn't bitch about that hire either.

Not really. Franklin was being talked about for both the Texas and USC jobs(if texas is available of course). We can't go cord again. UF is not a learn on the job place. Too much pressure to win here. You don't get time to learn how to be a head coach you have to come in and win by year two or the UF fans will turn on you. Franklin, Mullen, Strong will all probably be considered. I really want Briles or Gundy but I doubt we land either and Foley won't go after someone as old as Art. Really aren't a ton of marquee guys to hire..in fact in terms of coaches at small schools Franklin is probably the hottest one out there unless I'm completely forgetting someone. We wouldn't get Sumlin so no point in going for him. The Aggies have money to keep him.
