Paul Bessire, of PredictionMachine.com, said last week that Alabama, Florida State, Oregon, Baylor and Texas A&M would all be favored over the Buckeyes by six points or more should they meet in a bowl game.

Oregon, the site says, would be favored over every team on a neutral field.

The site generated its results by simulating every team against the 124 other FBS team 50,000 times.

The outcome gave the Buckeyes a 44.7 percent chance of finishing the season undefeated and a 22.4 percent chance of playing in the BCS title game as an undefeated team.

Among FBS teams, only Alabama (49.2 percent) was given a better chance at finishing undefeated.

Oregon is then technically the "best" team, but has less of a chance to go undefeated than Alabama and Ohio State. Interesting.

Sometimes numbers don't tell the whole story. Honestly I think I'd take Bama or FSU over Oregon really. I'd take Oregon over maybe every other team in the country besides those two though. Where as I wouldn't pick Bama to beat every team in the country and FSU vs a really good Power run like Bama could have a lot of trouble.

Either way...all four are very strong..and we will have a good NTG for sure..the rest of the bowls will suck though

Well, yes, that's obvious. But I always thought the conference that was most guilty of "beating each other up" was the SEC.

Well that is true BUT. Two things.

We are talking about The REMAINING schedule. Alabama could've had already played 6 hard teams and had 3 pansies left to play (not the case) and oregon had the toughest left (yes). And had LSU not had a down year it wouldn't have been the same.


2. Again yes it is said the SEC beats itself up, however each year a few teams get favorabe schedules and a few get fucked with the rest getting the middle.

Alabama has the easier of the SEC schedules this year not having to face USC, UF, Mizzou, or UGA. We had Vandy and UK. Then LSU had a down year. Luckily Auburn had a better than expected year which kept our SOS even'd out. Then ATM and ole miss stayed relevant yet Vandy is below and UK didnt have a pulse.



So Bama had a weak schedule AND if LSU would have been its normal top 10 self then osu would have the best chance to go undefeated.

Oregon only plays 1 ranked team on the rest of their schedule, Stanford... If UCLA loses to Arizona, Oregon will have only played 1 currently ranked team.
