Their top 2 choices are out.
Smart will stay at UGA
Bama can't match Texass money

That leaves:
Dabo Swinney
Lane Kiffin
Dan Lanning (?)
Mario Cristobal ... :ROFL Just kidding

So I think the obvious choice is...
Spoiler:

Agree on Smart and Sark being out for same reasons.

Lanning
Kiff
Dabo

Would’ve been nice to have Sark stay around and just transition to him being HC

Are these ranked (assuming this is in some order) by most likely, most preferable, or something else? :dunno

The three I think the school would go after in order.

Lanning is in Tuscaloosa right now.

Would be hilarious if FSU lost their playoff spot and coach to Bama in the same season. :hippie

Apparently Lanning wasn’t in Tuscaloosa. False rumor

I thought you said Norvell was a no name* coach... why would Bama go after a no name* coach with no ties to Bama? Make up your mind, man! :ROFL

*who also happens to be the Bear Bryant CotY, Dodd Trophy CotY, ACC CotY, AFCA Region 1 CotY, and is a finalist for both the Eddie Robinson CotY and George Munger CotY awards...

Also, no loss can be more hilarious than Miami's loss to GT. :happyno

Oh, no. Is everyone tracking all mysterious flight paths into Bama already?

Saban has 2 legit NC due to injuries, the rest were all generated by the system.

2003 should have been USC vs LSU, USC would have won

2009 Colt McCoy gets injured on a fluke play and barely beat a team that basically was 5-7 the next year with just about the same lineup

2011 Pure BS should have been Oklahoma State all system

2012 Pure BS again all system should have been OSU vs ND since OSU got bs probation because the SEC favoritism of never suspending SEC teams, see Cam Newton, Johnny Manziel, Urban Meyer UF run, Bama numerous uninvestgated fires like DJ Fluker, Haha Clinton Dix, Julio Jones suits, Trent Richardson cars and suits

2015 Miracle Fluke plays Ole Miss vs Arkansas and Mich vs MSU with a retarded division system put them in instead of Ohio State who had a better team.

2017 absolute fucking joke they went over OSU and Wisconsin, they played like 1 ranked team all year and got dominated.

2020 Covid Season OSU gets Sermon hurt the fisrt play and Fields had messed up ribs, most the Dline who sacked Lawrence a ton was out with Covid.

CK crying about injuries but ignoring Bama injuries. :biglol

osu has a coach that was born on 3rd and he can’t do shit with all the talent that was left to him :ROFL2

Lanning reportedly turned Bummer down. :thought
If I had to choose between coaching Oregon or Alabama, I'd probably choose Oregon, too. No pressure outside of division titles. I can't imagine dealing with people who literally shoot each other and poison trees over losing to Auburn.

There aren't any divisions. The pressure will be making the playoffs every other year.

Eh, still not a problem considering the dumbass expansion and them being in the Big Ten.

Also I need to find a real sports news site. There are at least 26 fucking links (a few repeat links to the same story, but still) on CBSSports's CFB homepage about Saban retiring before I stopped counting. You can't keep it to 5 or less, guys?

Tangent: I still can't believe the disrespect for FSU from all over the media, too. The one article mentioning FSU I saw while counting was labeled UGA up to 3, FSU down to 6 in the Coaches Poll.
