I think it just came down to the CFP Committee said the 13 games they played in were meaningless so they decided the 14th game was not worth getting injured over. Don't agree but can't blame them to a degree.

Your team might have 1 loss if they got lucky, and were in the west and played Indiana, MSU, Rutgers for cross conference games.

I am pretty sure PSU, OSU, Michigan would all beat Tenn during the regular season, Rutgers, Maryland, Wisconsin, NW could beat them too, I would pick Tenn in those games though.
