Alabama has the same issue playing an FCS team this week.

UGA playing teams like Ball State and UT-Martin is a reason it took them so long to get into the Top 25. I don't know if I've ever seen a schedule that weak for a Top 10 team.

As I said, all FCS teams now count the same: their record against FBS teams is 4-114, so worse than 3-8. Liberty is benefiting from not playing FCS teams.

PSU beats pretty much every team they can by double digits. And yes, losing to not one, but two undefeated teams only hurts them a little. Meanwhile FSU lets shitty teams like M.I.A. and BC hang around. PSU's closest wins are by 9 and 17. It's a running average, and beating a 6-5 M.I.A. team by 7 would be 7 * 6 / 11 = 3.8 for that week (+16 to get 19.8 ) Meanwhile PSU beats 6-5 Rutgers by 21, so that's 16 * 6 / 11 = 8.7 (+16 to get 24.7)

If you go true Boolean and MOV doesn't matter (max MOV = 1), FSU is still 7th... It's more that the teams we beat keep sucking it up more than anything FSU specifically did.

I was saying "Fuck North Alabama" because they injured our players on purpose, not because they have a shitty record, although I understand your interpretation. I knew our average was going to drop before the game, but teams like Duke keep fucking losing and it hurts us. It's why ESPN talking heads (Chris Fowler, IIRC) back in like 1998 or 1999 were pissed that they had to pay attention to WAC games because the BCS computers used to take SOS into account and some contenders played WAC teams.

I might tweak it back to having divide-by-zero teams count as +1/+1 instead of +11/+1 or something in between. The CFP is going to skew the results anyway, provided they're not super close. Penn State blows out everyone else they play (AKA nobodies).

Washington is such overrated trash. Since Oregon choked against them, they've had some "impressive" single digit wins against 8-4 Utah (7 points) and 8-4 Oregon St (2 points). They also beat 3-9 Stanford by 9, 3-9 ASU by 8, and 5-7 WSU by 3.

I'm confident Rodemaker & Co would average more than 20 ppg against the likes of Arizona St, Oregon St and Washington St.
