I’m surprised TcU didn’t drop at all.

But they did make the Conference CG. Gutsy call to go for it on 4th and inches in OT. But they have one less loss, better wins, made their CCG and already beat KSU earlier.

How many games in the last 10 years has Alabama been favored in and lost? If Alabama won every game they were favored in, they'd have the longest winning streak by a wide margin. On-the-field results matter. Alabama was better than Clemson in 2016 but it was the Tigers celebrating a national championship.

I could argue that FSU was the best team in 1989 (and a ton of other years they don't claim national championships in) but they had 2 losses. That's why pollsters didn't rank them #1 at the end of the year. Whether you think Alabama deserves to be ranked ahead of Tennessee or not, they certainly didn't earn it on the football field.
