...when he ranked Mexass #1 in his corches poll? :ROFL

I'm convinced no one else would be retarded enough to do this.

This bumped them up to 18th in the corches poll (unranked in AP).

I'm betting infinity dollars on Bama covering the spread in week 2. :pimp

Everyone was making the joke that it was Saban to piss off his team.

I think they are confidential now. Would actually be funnier if Saban did it though. :lolthumb

It's been established (in this thread) that the coach ballots are anonymous.

Isn't it sad how rankings can be gamed by unscrupulous or unstable individuals? This is why computer rankings are superior and rankings shouldn't be released prior to Week 4 at the earliest. But thanks to the big business of college football, this BS persists.

Maybe the voter was pointing out how corrupt and foolish the human polls are in the first place. Assuming this is Sarkisian trying to bolster his resume, could we get ~120 teams with first place votes next year? Next week? While I prefer Bama to UGA, why the fuck does Alabama have 48 more first place votes than UGA?

In my poll, Texas is tied for #1... with every other team in the FBS because everyone is 0-0.

Weird things happen in the preseason coaches poll. Spurrier always ranked Duke 25th.

The polls are now for entertainment purposes only. Playoff committee makes the call. I believe they lean on the computers quite a bit.

They're still humans making the same human mistakes. The BCS was destroyed due in large part to humans fucking up/with the system and computer systems, completely removing margin of victory as if winning by 1 point is exactly the same as winning by 35. This is why I use MOV caps. No computer ranking system is perfect, either, but at least it's fair: every team plays by the same rules.

Dumbasses (mainly M.I.A. fans) were outraged by FSU getting to play OU in the 2000-2001 Orange Bowl and they get really pissed if you mention that by their transitive property rules, UWash should have gone up against OU. That whining (inevitable as it was) got the CFB PTBs to fuck up the computer rankings. Relevant: https://www.bcsguru.com/bcs_2000/

Maybe the coach was thinking about Arch Manning signing with Texas. He's #1 in the 2023 class. Not so sure about 2022 Texas. :lolthumb

So it wasn't Sark, and it wasn't Mack Brown. Neither votes in the coaches poll. Now I'm really confused. :dunno
