USC and UCLA are joining the Big 10 (bringing their total to 16 teams) in 2024. Rumor is the Big 10 with 16 teams is also looking to add Oregon, ND, and/or Washington. The amount of faggotry involved in doing that to the fellow "Alliance" member Pac-12 is pretty disgusting. Fuck the SEC (first "super-conference"), ACC, Pac-12, Big 10. The Big 12 seems to be the only P5 conference that isn't poaching conferences unless they have to to survive, so they get a pass.
The ACC is garbage still but this will likely hasten their demise. A few years ago there were talks of 4 super-conferences (P12, B10, ASS ACC, SEC). Now people are saying there will be 2 super-conferences (B10 with up to 24 teams and the SEC likely poaching at least one team from the P12. The Southeastern Conference having a team on the West Coast. Nice job. Might as well call them the American Conference and the National Conference if that happens).
The ACC currently has the worst TV deal of all P5 conferences and FSU is held in the ACC for ransom (Fuck you, Stan Wilcox, you worthless, destructive motherfucker). Nice job having the weakest TV deal, Swofford. Just quit with the conferences or go back to having like 10 of them instead of 2. CFB would be better if conferences didn't exist and there were simply a few "protected rivals" that institutions agreed to have. But no, the best "amateur" football might as well just be called a semi-pro league now. Thanks, NCAA & NIL.
Finally, a big "fuck you" :finger to ESPN, who has hastened the demise of CFB with their monopolizing TV deals and greed.
