1. The Supreme Court ruled against the NCAA limiting "compensation" for student-athletes to scholarships on Monday, 2021-06-21. Some think this will increase the divide in talent for a lot of schools because Alabama's and Ohio State's players will generally be more profitable than TCU's or Oregon State's, AKA going to a less-popular school is like taking a pay cut for players. Nice job, Supreme Court. The NCAA needed to be LESS commercialized, not moreso.
Fucking businesses and capitalism are ruining everything. I can't wait for football fields to be covered in ads instead of white yard markers. "And he/him is down at the Aflac duck! First and CapitalOne!" :suicide
2. The FBS is in talks about expanding the playoffs to 12 teams, including the Top 4 teams getting bye weeks. Hopefully the CFP committee will die with the 4-team format. I still think bowls are better, although at least when somebody like Alabama fails to win the SEC West, it will actually make sense if they win the national title with the 12-team format. They should change the name back to I-A in that case, because bowls might as well not exist.
Who would've thought a 4-team playoff would cause more controversy?
