How bad would 7-5 Auburn destroy Ohio State?

Postby FSUKW » December 28th, 2018, 7:52 pm

42-7 Auburn over Purdue with 10 minutes left in the 2nd Q.

Auburn about to break a scoring record for this bowl (in the first half).

If they call mercy rule at halftime, Barn has a 10 TD advantage over tUOS.

Crazy how Auburn was not motivated to play UCF last year in the Peach Bowl, but got up for Purdue this year in the Music City Bowl.

Did this years auburn team have a shot at the playoffs?

Did it beat Georgia and Alabama and go to the SECcg only to get embarrassed and have both teams it beat advance to the playoffs.

This team also didn’t want to lose again after hearing all year about UCF I would assume as well.

There are differences.

If the B1G is a joke, does that make the ACC the joke? :thought

Other than Clemson, yes.

B10b had better middle of the pack teams, and the entire Coastal division is garbage.

None of this explains why they would be motivated to play in the Music Shitty Bowel against 6-6 EMU's bitch.

Most teams are motivated to win. Their last game was a loss and it wasn’t that great of a season.

The argument is “why are they motivated this year” because that’s not the anomaly. The anomaly is the one year they use the excuse of not being motivated. You need to have the reason why. Why?

Their shot of being the champs evaporated before their eyes because of both of their rivals that they already beat.

That seems simple enough. UCF was still a good team that could’ve and might’ve beat auburn still.

Not that, when Gus knows he might lose his job then he coaches his ass off and destroys the next teams. He was close to losing his job in 2017 after blowing the LSU lead. He got it together and destroyed Georgia and bama. He signs the extension, then bombs the SEC championship and then Peach Bowl. He got to restructure his buyout and place money to make it easier to fire him next year. The thing is that Gus doesn't want to get fired at all. When he feels threatened for his job then he goes in for the kill on these games.

Stidham needed that game.

As did malzahn for recruiting reasons.

Bowl games, outside of the playoffs, are for onthe cusp draftable players to make an impact and for the coaches to have a stage to show the potential recruits what's up. Wins and losses aren't the big deal.

Auburn, being the laughingstock they became after completely flatlining to UCF had to play lights out.
