I have not read this (yet). Briles will be our QB coach so I don't know what Lebby would have done here. As far as I know we are/were only interested in Briles and Clements.

If he isn't granted the waiver, this makes the most sense. However, I don't want this kid on the team if he doesn't want to be here. These kids not willing to wait it out to shine, or put in the work to earn the starting job drive me nuts. The days of earning it for yourself and yours are vanishing quickly and it's a shame. If Fields is able to use the comments of a drunk idiot as a scapegoat to play right away, he should leave. It's also troubling that he requested to be put in the portal and Kirby is allowing him to stay with the team and possible play in the Sugar Bowl, but I understand the chess match...

The waiver rule is garbage... It's supposed to be for the safety of the student-athlete. Not to be exploited to transfer to a school that sucks ass on the football field just so he can play right away.
