The real question is. Why has Taggart gotten shunned by so many coaches?

Defensive cord and WR coach he struggled to get someone on board. Both were decent hires sure, but why are so many rejecting what should be a very highly sought after position at a program like FSU?

You have a lot of guys who are going to be "proving" themselves.

UF has over 120 years of SEC experience. Including a guy who's produced 3 pro bowl WR's and five first round picks. A head coach with the most bowl's and best WP at a power five school in their history despite being in the toughest division in football. Multiple guys returning from the title teams to the same position. Kept the best person from the old staff that was awful. Got the understudy of the S&C coach now at OSU that was here for the title teams. Got Sunseri who was recruiter of the year a few years back, and a very good Dline coach. Our RB coach is proven, our secondary coach and LB coach are really the only up and comers in the group.

You have three very good hires in Frey, Barnett, and Odell. The rest really are question marks right now.

Yes. Because Mullen has struggled to score vs FSU in the past.

LOL - you think Mullen walks on water because he beat Bobby's worst teams ever (8-5, 7-6, 7-6 and 9-4) and beat an aging and past his prime Micky Andrews (at a time he lost his son). Hell, those teams are the reason Bobby was forced out. Mullen did what a lot of teams did back then. :ROFL2

See I can make excuses too...... :2thumbs

Walt Bell - His offense was 120th in YPG in the country last year. 96th in YPG in 2016. The year before he got there, they were 87th. - Wow...Doug Nuss 2.0 over there

David Kelly - a 61 year old WR coach who hasn't coached in 7 years. Maybe he can recruit well. Not sure how you can spin this into a good thing though. They were forced to settle for him because their own alum turned them down to stay at an in-conference rival. He does have experience with Taggart and recruiting in Florida, so at least he can help with recruiting.

Hired Michigan's Oline coach, who's offensive line was 114th in sacks given up this season.

I asked a FSU fan today about it and his face said it all..this staff doesn't look FSU worthy. Just like Mac's staff in 2014. Looks like they have some recruiters, but you have to have good coaching as well. Don't know if they have that outside of a few positions.

You fail to realize Taggart is calling the offense and not Bell, right? Also ignore the fact that Maryland doesn't have a QB anywhere near as talented as Francois.

Kelly hasn't coached in 7 years? Interesting because he was coaching CFL in 2014 as a RB coach.

Michigan ranked 91st in tackle of loss allowed...FsU was 117th and UFelon's OL coach had his team at 109th.

Sacks allowed? Michigan 110...UF's OL coach? 112

Canadian football league...LOLOLOLOLOL. Okay then. Kind of proves how bad he is.

13 36 264 2.77 - Michigan's allowed sacks per game

Miss State ranked sixth in the nation in sacks allowed fuck tard.

Maybe you should try research before you speak. So much for taking me seriously. You can't even post real stats. UF hired Hav, the guy who coached the line for the 2006 title team. Also improved Miss State's line massively. Our Oline coach is far, far better than yours. As is our WR coach(see his NFL players including Harvin, OBJ, etc), our TE coach, our QB coach, our head coach, our RB coach, and our DLine coach is a draw. LB coach you may have us beat, secondary not sure on yours ours is decent.

You stated he hasn't coached in 7 years and was instantly proven wrong so you deflect :biglol

I was looking at your last Ol coach...my bad

Your HC has 1 10 win season...1 so let's not act like he's GOAT because I'm not acting like Taggart is.

Your DC and DL coaches aren't even close to FSU's

In your opinion...... :2thumbs Who shunned him, Duggans? His wife wasn't leaving Miami and he played for Mark Richt at Tallahassee. Not exactly earth shattering revelation. Jim Leavitt? He was never leaving Oregon due to $$$$$.

'At the end of the day and the Cliff Notes since I don't have time to recite their bios, we have coaches who can recruit, who put players in the NFL, who played in the NFL, who coached in the NFL, some were head coaches at other colleges. We have position coaches who were coordinators. (our DE coach was DC for Jim Tressel's NC team and DC at A&M).

Our OC is only inexperienced hire, but WT calls his own plays. Bell has been well regarded at every stop and is young and energetic. Time will tell but WT was never going to hire a big name.

LOL at your assumptions.

As for the Kelly comments, this is all you need to know:

Kelly, a Union, South Carolina native, has coached all over the country at the college level. He's coached at Georgia, Georgia Tech, UCF, Stanford, LSU, and Duke, mainly as a wide receivers coach. Kelly has been serving in an off-field capacity under Taggart since the 2015 season at USF. He joined Taggart in Oregon for the 2017 season as director of recruiting. He is considered one of the top recruiters in the country, and was named a top-25 recruiter by Rivals in 2009 and ESPN in 2010.

Jon Gruden and Herm Edwards have not coached in 10 years...... :jerkit

Let's see.

Was at the worst SEC West program that is nearly impossible to recruit at because it offers nothing above the other schools.

Played vs some of the best ever LSU, Auburn, and Bama teams. When you have only three stars, shit don't pan out. See Franklin at Vandy.

Now explain why your coaching staff has minimal experience, a shitty head coach with a losing record, CFL coaches and 7 on 7 coaches? Or why you kept getting rejected by coaches to join the staff? Or why your elite recruiter...isn't doing very good recruiting. You know..like every year he didn't have Cristobal.

Mullen was the best coach in Miss State history. Miss State only won 5 games in the previous six years before Mullen.

Got their first ever number 1 AP ranking. Got them to their first BCS level bowl in sixty years. Set every offensive record on their books basically. Best win percentage of any Miss State coach. Only one to go to that many bowl games in a row.

While you coach....almost had a winning record.

Unbiased comparison of hires...and just how shitty your head coach is. Enjoy being the third best team in the state. You will be. Very soon.

Taggart recruited slightly worse than Jim Leavitt and Skip Holtz in his time at USF, though he did do a little bit better in conference. And had Taggart stayed at Oregon he likely would have recruited better than Helfrich long-term, but as discussed above, likely not too much better. - Elite recruiter? Yea..I guess Holtz is a God recruiter then.

Basically. Your coach isn't even an elite recruiter. He was shit before Cristobal and Jim made him look good. You literally hired a coach who hasn't been good at anything. :ROFL2 :dog He then put together an average staff with very little power five experience that you have deluded into them being elite recruiters, despite no proof. Your new OC had a worse offense than UF LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL...Jesus. Freaking. Christ.

You can keep trying to defend it..but you all know the reality. FSU's staff is weak. Your head coach is overrated as a recruiter based on one single year(with the best recruiter in CFB in Cristobal). FSU..you're about to suck till you fire him and his affirmative action staff

Let's see.

Was at the worst SEC West program that is nearly impossible to recruit at because it offers nothing above the other schools.

"Mullen's first recruiting class at Mississippi State was ranked 19th in the nation by Scout.com and his 2012 recruiting class was ranked 18th in the nation."
Played vs some of the best ever LSU, Auburn, and Bama teams. When you have only three stars, shit don't pan out. See Franklin at Vandy.

So UF wants to just lose to good teams. How is that an upgrade from MacElwain?
Now explain why your coaching staff has minimal experience, a shitty head coach with a losing record, CFL coaches and 7 on 7 coaches? Or why you kept getting rejected by coaches to join the staff? Or why your elite recruiter...isn't doing very good recruiting. You know..like every year he didn't have Cristobal.

Mullen was the best coach in Miss State history. Miss State only won 5 games in the previous six years before Mullen.

"Mullen made SEC history when he became the first football coach in conference history to win a bowl game and still finish with a losing record on the season."
Got their first ever number 1 AP ranking. Got them to their first BCS level bowl in sixty years. Set every offensive record on their books basically. Best win percentage of any Miss State coach. Only one to go to that many bowl games in a row.

Lost to GT in the Orange Bowl. Lost to GT. In a bowl. A triple option team. In a bowl. I guess UF can lose to 7-4 FCS teams that run the triple option, so maybe it's good? A month to prepare and they gave up 49 points to a triple option team... in their best season ever. FSU's atrocious defense didn't even give up 49 against GT that season. Butch Jones can beat GT, but Dan Mullen can't. :biglol
