All jokes aside, wouldn't it make sense if a great player tanked it a little bit so they could slide down in the draft and get drafted by a good team? Yeah, their rookie contract won't be as much, but with the new limits on rookie contracts, that's not as big of a deal, plus if a good player goes to a decent team, I think they probably make up the initial salary hit over the course of their career.
