1. Is undefeated
2. Has beaten arguably the best offensive team in the country
3. Has beaten arguably the best defensive team in the country
4. Has beaten 2 top 25 teams at time of game
5. Has scored on defense a/o special teams in every game so far(not including PATs and FGs)
6. Has led every opponent by at least 21 points at some time during the game
7. Has won 3 games by 25 points (or in better terms, 4 possessions)
8. Has shutout a top 25 team at time of rank
9. Is still #1
And yet, people still think Alabama is overrated and does not deserve the #1 spot. Is it because they don't have the best defense ever(2011) or the best Oline ever(2012)? Maybe this year is the year Alabama is going to be great on special teams. Alabama hasn't been great in the past several years on special teams, but this year is different. Maybe that's what Alabama will be known for in 2013, having the best special teams in the country. Last year it wasn't great, nor was it even good the year before. But this year it is for sure. I think that's why this team is so hard to figure out. Just my take on the matter.

But oregon dominated zero ranked teams so far...so they are clearly better.

Defensive team? Which one is that. (serious question, I can't seem to recall who they've played)

I honestly think the guff comes from how horrible your offensive line has looked early in the season. Especially the Virginia Tech game. Just out of sync and not gelled but when you think about it what do you expect you guys were breaking in three new offensive linemen. Just how they had some struggles that looked glaring for a Saban coached teamed.

I do kind of think Bama isn't as good as their stats show. Something is just not right. Allowing the Aggies to throw for over what, 500 yards? Your total offense is actually worse than Florida's in terms of YPG. Something seems wrong, but you've won. So you can't complain and until someone beats the champs, to me, they are number 1. Simple as that.

If they played Clemson, LSU and UGA in the first month, they lose 2 of 3.

Yeah because Saban always loses big OOC games to start the season like Richt does.... Maybe lose to LSU, we stand a better chance of coming out of that stretch 3-1 or 4-0 than Georgia did. I mean our defense overall is better than Georgia's, and the offense obviously needs work. Alabama vs Georgia would be another great game in Atlanta this year if it happens. And you also forget that AJ has played great in big games throughout his career, can't say the same for Aaron Murray.

I think being number 1 in the sport is worth something. But hey, that just my opinion.

Offensive line, buddy. People act like its always AM's fault he is on his ass in less than 2 seconds in big games... :crazy :facepalm

Georgia's Oline good this year or no? Haven't paid attention to pressure on Murray really...didn't Clemson get in the backfield a ton vs you?

I think you were #1 at a similar point in 2010. How'd that work out for you?
The only rankings that matter are at the end of the year, genius, hence many of your worthless stats contain temporary rankings.

And 0 points in 3 overtimes. VT's defense is pretty damn good.
