FSU vs UCF?

Postby Citronauts_Knights » September 20th, 2017, 11:17 pm

Some blogger on an FSU site called ChopChat (seriously, that's the name of it) is saying that because of Hurricane Irma and the resulting shortened season (11 games instead of 12) that FSU should replace their game against FCS Delaware St with a game against UCF, in order to further improve their attractiveness to the playoff committee (if that is even in play for them.) I wouldn't mind seeing this.

With 4 ranked opponents left on the schedule (likely 5 if we make ACCCG), FSU will make the playoffs if they win out. Also, I like the de facto bye prior to the UF game, since we will have played 10 weeks straight.

Besides, FSU will lose at least 2 more games anyway, so it won't really matter.

I wouldn't bank on that being a guarantee.

1 loss Alabama, Ohio State, Penn State, USC would probably get in over them.

USC's schedule is laughable, and FSU would get in over a 1-loss team that didn't win their division. OSU taught the playoff committee a valuable lesson last year. ;)

But again, it doesn't matter because FSU will lose 2+. :sigh

Indeed. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt on this one... He obviously meant 3+. No way FSU only loses 2. :wave2
