You're lucky they screwed the investigation up. Plain and simple.

Maybe, but I think we also helped by self-punishing with the bowl bans.

I think the punishment was very fair if you count in the three years of negative recruiting as well as the fear of the death penalty and the actual uncertainty of what the outcome would be. I think we all agree something went on but do not really know exactly what happened. You cannot take everything that ex coaches or players say at 100 percent truthful. Coaches involved could be out to save their career/reputations and players "could" have an ax to grind against the school for their career not turning out the way they thought it should.

I would agree with all that. There were more witnesses though. Ones with no stake in it.

For the record, I wasn't rooting for any kind of hammer laid down. Just need to correct the usually illogical and almost always incorrect MD. I do think you are lucky the NCAA screwed up the investigetion. I believe that is part of the reason your administrstors all but dared them to come down harder.

I am thankful it is over so we can all move on.

Agreed
Punishment was not as severe as it could have been due to the ineptness of Emmeret and his staff. Also, the reduction of sanctions at PSU indicates a bunch of dogs chasing their tails. Just put a top hat on Emmeret, give him a dancing bear and put a tent over his fucking circus!

Jay Bilas also was very big supporter of the university threw out the last year and really made the NCAA look ridiculous-especially linking the NCAA website and sales of players jersey's to his twitter account. Pretty much ruined any credibility what was left of the NCAA.
