Melo? How the fuck is he greedy when he signed for 120 mil insead of 129

He left 9 million on the table to give them some cap room in 2015

Definitely not greedy

The forcing the Knicks to trade for him instead of waiting for the offseason is the REASON the knicks lost all of their assets. It was done so Carmelo could get a bigger contract.

He is greedy. Seems he finally learned a little lesson after destroying the Knicks future by forcing them to give up all of their good players basically to get him instead of signing in the offseason for less.

Thats not how it went down moron

Denver didnt want to lose him in the offseason and get nothing so they started shopping him as soon as he said he was not going to re sign with the nuggets

so new york was the only team dumb enough to pay that lofty price

denver had NY over a barrel, they knew that new york wanted melo and that he wanted to go there so they threatened to trade melo elsewhere, and i guess the knicks were afraid of melo liking his new team mates and not signing with them in the off season, but NY did make a DUMB TRADE to get melo, i will agree with that part

however melo didnt force anything, denver played their cards right and NY was acting desperate

It's actually exactly how it went down. They were discussing it in detail on CBSSports radio for almost 30 minutes. The Knicks were morons sure, but Carmelo forced his hand in the trade because he told everyone looking he wanted to get the most money possible. The only way for New York to give him that was by that trade.

He could have easily had said I'll sign with you next offseason and completely removed the risk. He didn't, because he wanted the massive contract he could get through the trade.

Add in the REASON he came back to New York was because he was offered Max AT five years, which no other team was even close to offering because this is his last max contract chance. His value has already gone down because of his being an average defender, rebounder, and teammate. Knicks basically offered him the most money at FIVE years which is really just an odd all around move for a rebuilding team...or a team that should be rebuilding.

Cap space wasn't what we were discussing you impaired bastard.

While Melo was in Denver he had no power to force NY to do anything, the Nuggets front office had the power and they used it.

Also, don't pretend like you have a clue anything related to NBA unless it's licking LBJ's balls. :finger:

Yes. But he missed the part about the fact that no other team would be able to pay 129 Million anyways, and NO one was offering him a larger contract.

So he signs with New York and forces a huge contract the Knicks moronically sign, then comes back basically a 2 million a year discount on a contract only the Knicks would even think about paying him. See Lebron may be a douche, but at least he does care about something besides himself. Doesn't seem like Carmelo does. He certainly doesn't care about winning, cause he would have bolted to the Rockets or Bulls to win.

I didn't miss it, I could just care less as it wasn't the primary argument btw you and MD.

And Leoptout is a self obsessed, selfish joke. Gtfo with that garbage.
