Airbnb rental

Has anyone tried this yet. I took over the mortgage of a house these people were losing because of today’s economy.
I’m about to fix it up and move in it and rent out my other house. I see where people are getting $250- $300 a night and 6K a month in profits. :thought
This could lead to early retirement.

People still use Airbnb? :dunno

Is it a beach house or somewhere people would vacation? If not (or even if so), I would fix it up and rent it annually. Otherwise, you have to deal with the hassle of cleaning/repairing it every time someone's rental is up, paying Airbnb's cut and dealing with their terms, and all the time it does unoccupied.

If you really want to deal with short term rentals, I'd use something like VRBO instead.

Also, Airbnb is run by a bunch of commies in SF. If you use any social media and they find it, they'll probably shut down your account and dox you as a fascist terrorist.

Greetings from Palm Coast Florida where I’m 20 minutes north of Daytona and 30 minutes south of St Augastine. Not to mention 10 minutes from the beach. And I’m ground zero where all these Yankees are fleeing their liberal shithole states because they’re safe here. VRBO is better than Airbnb and I believe there is a few others. Not to mention I have a fenced in yard with a pool in the back, screened in porch with a 50 inch tv on the wall. And my mortgage is a little over a $1000 a month. I moved back to Florida at the perfect time before all these Yankees blew up the market.

Most renters are going to want to be on the beach. If you're talking about a 10 minute walk, maybe.

People want safety and security. They don’t want to walk to the beach. The want an area where the police weren’t defunded.

And yes I’m glad I bought my house when Trump had the interest rates at 2.9%. Biden fucked that up.

They want both. I don't stay anywhere that isn't ON the beach.

Is 10 min from the beach a different jurisdiction than on the beach?

I did too, and put 20% down, but my mortgage is $2,500/mo.

It’s a brilliant idea really.

Now time to make it an Only Fans casting house, where everybody that stays is cast on an Only Fans (or just a streaming service)

Making double money

:yes

We made like $130,000 off our previous house (thanks Zillow!) where we only lived 2 years, interest rates were sweet, and the house was much better than anything in its price range. Small neighborhood w/ great neighbors, and we don't plan on moving until both kids have moved out (another 17 years).

But for the same price, we could have had a large closet in SF or NYC. :sigh

Did very well off the house in SC. Who ever bought that house sold it two years later for 40K more.

I decided to just rent it out yearly with a lease. I can get 2K a month and someone else can take over the utilities. Just seems like Airbnb in todays world would be to much of a headache. Not to mention people are expecting a slow season mostly due to the economy and Bideneconomics. :facepalm
And Facebook Karen is a concern.

I thought about just selling it but what I got this house for 5 years ago I don’t think I’ll see houses go for that price anytime soon if not ever again. :usa
