If it's not shady, it's not Miami(FL) football

The Dolphins lost 2 draft picks, the owner was fined and suspended for several weeks of the season. I feel like suspending the owner for a few weeks is retarded, but maybe the owner is also their GM. :dunno

-They had "impermissible contact" with Tom Brady while he was under contract with New England and Tampa Bay.
-Similar "impermissible contact" with Sean Payton's (coach of the Saints) agent.
-No concrete evidence was found of the 2019 team tanking to get a better draft position and former coach Flores is suing them because they fired him "for trying to win games." :biglol
-Flores was offered $100,000 for every game he lost. :ROFL2

You stay classy, Miami(FL).

Wait, why would you not do this if you have no chance of making the playoffs?

-It undermines the entire league.
-It's against the rules of the NFL.
-It's borderline illegal, especially in regards to betting.
-Who wants to watch a team try to lose every week?

Our capitalist society is built on little pieces of paper restricting what we can do from trade secrets and patents to contracts and non-disclosure agreements.

The whole reason the NFL Draft is a thing is because they reserve the right to sign the player over the other NFL teams. If it were a "free market," the NFL Draft would be utterly meaningless because the player could easily just choose the best offer. I believe that's how the free agency works, however Tom Brady is not a free agent.

Oh, so they just have to "rest some starters" like teams do in the week or two before the playoffs and it's all good?

Not that I care either way. NFL is gay.

Not doing your best to win and trying to lose are two different things. Resting your starters when it doesn't matter if they're in there to avoid injury is used at the end of tons of games. You have a problem with that, do you? They aren't doing it to destroy their season and get a better draft pick.

Is it borderline illegal to pull your starters in the 4th, resulting in your team not covering the spread?

1. Yes. As stated before:
-It undermines the entire league.
-It's against the rules of the NFL.

2. No, it's not, provided there wasn't some bribery or score manipulation involved. See my last post.

There's a rule stating that you can only rest players if you've clinched a spot in the playoffs? It wouldn't surprise me, but I was not aware of that.

I guess you could just have them fake a positive COVID test... or pretend to have some other illness. Does the NFL require them to submit doctor's notes for review?

1. Yes, it matters.
2. Depends on if bribery were involved.

Who gives a shit about the Dolphins. They haven’t won shit in 50 years. But I hear the Ruiz family is building a new stadium for the Hurricanes with a retractable roof. 8)

So you don't pull for your former moles in the NFL like jameous and Peter warrick?

I want all the Bama players to succeed but I don’t pull for them because I don’t follow the nfl.

Atm I can name Mac Jones on Patriots, Hurts on Eagles, and Tua on Dolphins.

I only know those because all 3 have been in the news lately. I can’t tell you another team that any Bama players are on.
