Where are some decent areas to live (rural/semi-rural) that are in predominantly red counties? Keys? :thought

Jacksonville, Gainesville, and pretty much the entire panhandle except Tally. Miami area seems to be trending red, but it has a ways to go.

Only place I think I could live in FL would be Tampa. Florida Man is real. There aren't really any decent areas.

Keys are nice if you're flamboyantly ghey, super lib, and looking to die in a hurricane.

I like it here in Palm Coast. Better get here quick before the Yankees fleeing their shithole states buy everything up.

Anywhere in north Florida outside major cities is more conservative, generally. Not sure why Muck is saying Gainesville and Jax are conservative considering their voting, but he would know better than I would. You might like west Florida around Pensacola or Panama City. It's a lot closer to AL and GA with calmer beaches than the Atlantic coast. Tallahassee has plenty of conservatives, too.

The further south you go, generally the more New England-y and Midwest-y it gets. If you like hunters wearing camo, rural north FL is the way to go. There are lots of areas that are within driving distance of a city. Just stay away from the fuckstain traffic enforcers in Mc Int osh Co unty, G A (Da ri en) on I-95. If I ever went crazy and went on a shooting spree, it would be at their sheriff's office.

Jacksonville is the 2nd largest US city with a Republican mayor.

Gainesville being more conservative than Tally is just a hunch. :dunno

Pensacola is probably not too bad, but I can't imagine living in Panama City. Grouper sammich at Schooner's is out of this world though... :drool
Santa Rosa Beach is halfway between Pensacola and PC, and it's a nice little town.

Well, there's Gulf Shores, Orange Beach and St Simon's Island... but FL has no state income tax.

Yeah I was asking if he wanted FL only or were the other two states an option.

Basically why is he moving to FL and is FL the only option for him?

Gainesville is a shit hole and nothing to do with college football.

Depends on what you’re looking for.

Jobs?
Beach?
Weather?

I live in Windermere. Suburb of Orlando. Lots of nice areas just outside Orlando. Lots of shitty areas. Like most major cities - traffic sucks the closer you are to the city. Having Disney and beaches close is nice.

Jacksonville is nice. Nice winter weather on occasion.

Tampa is nice. Rinse and repeat of Orlando only more sports and beaches.

Anywhere from Jacksonville to Vero Beach is nice. Except Daytona Beach. Pure shit hole.

Anywhere from Clearwater to Marco Island is nice.

I grew up on panhandle. That’s gods country? LOL. Looking at you Destin and Ft Walton Beach.

:mad I called it not decent! It just seems more right-leaning than Tally to me.

But I defer to you. I live up yonder in GA.

It’s not a horrible place to live. Just a boring ass redneck city. Obviously it centers around gator football.

Also be careful with St Augastine. To many old bitchy white people. The fountain of youth is a curse.

Thank you everyone. That gives me some areas to research.

I'm stuck in shitty New England for now, but I don't want to live here forever. :happyno

Access to decent beaches is a plus. If I have to drive say 30 minutes to get to the beach, that's doable.

I want to be at least 30 minutes from a big city.
