That's what pisses me off so much about people calling FSU racist. We're not the Redskins, widely viewed as a slur. We're associated with a specific tribe. I probably wouldn't give a damn about Native Americans if I didn't grow up with FSU. The football team made me want to learn about their history and culture. I have a Seminole song on my playlist with actual Seminole language in it. If FSU were the Indians or something, I wouldn't know nearly as much about them.

Maybe if it were the 1970s and we were still using Chief Wompumstompum they could make a realistic claim it was racist.

The funniest part to me is how the Seminole Tribe of Oklahoma hates FSU. Like your team whips us pretty much every time we play. Get over it. :nancy
