Well, on one side you have Maduro, the people currently in power in Venezuela, Russia, China, and Turkey. On the other side you have most of the Venezuelan people... and the rest of the world.
Maduro is also accusing the US of staging a coup, which would be nothing new for us. If true, I don't agree with it. Let Venezuela deal with their own problems. It's also pretty common for embattled leaders to point fingers at foreign countries in an attempt to bring people within the country over to their side.
It is also my understanding that because Venezuelan congress and courts were apposed to Maduro, he declared both invalid and created a new congress and installed new judges that were all his cronies. Also a lot of talk that his re-election this year was rigged. Many inside and outside of Venezuela have called for a "redo" election, but Maduro has refused, causing many countries to recognize Juan Guaidó as the interim president.JdPat04 wrote:Are we setting up the make the right moves or is this looking to be even a worse situation for a long time?
I don't know anything about Juan Guaidó or his politics, but moving away from socialism certainly wouldn't hurt. While also socialist, Venezuela was in much better shape under Hugo Chávez (corrupt as fuck, but at least the people had food and medicine). The US doesn't exactly have a stellar track record when it comes to replacing regimes.JdPat04 wrote:If you Can provide a source that you trust I’ll gladly read it and save you from typing. Most of the articles I've read are pretty bland.
