Precaution or actual threat?

The one I posted about happened at Patuxent Highschool which is in Lusby where we did live from 2013-2016

We moved north about 15-20 miles. Luckily mine is only in pre k anyways and niece is in middle school and nephew is elementary.

There was a threat, but it was determined to be a prank. Several high schools involved. This is third lockdown this year at his school. I guess it’s good that they don’t play around.

Yeah When I was in school there was a year that we had 2 or 3 bomb threats in a few month span. Thing is when we had a bomb threat they'd take us all out to the football field and have us sit in the bleachers.

I would always think, if someone wants to shoot us all just call in a bomb threat and shoot us when we are out there grouped together in the open.

My son goes to Windermere High School.

Three Central Florida teenagers were arrested as social media threats and other scares at local schools frightened parents and kept law enforcement agencies busy on Friday, two days after the mass shooting at a South Florida high school.

None of the local threats proved credible, officials stressed, but several Orange County schools were put on lockdown and online threats prompted some parents to pull their children out of class.

Much of the angst stemmed from a Snapchat post — suggesting “Round 2” of the South Florida massacre was soon to come — traced to a teenager in South Carolina. The post was widely shared online, officials said, sometimes after being altered to suggest specific schools were being targeted.

A 14-year-old student at Space Coast Junior/Senior High School in Brevard County was arrested after sharing the post and adding, “I’m coming space coast watch out,” Sheriff Wayne Ivey said. The girl shared the threat as a joke — an act the sheriff called “as sick as you can possibly be” — but it caused widespread fear, he said.

“When something like this happens, the tentacles of it are far-reaching,” Ivey said.

In Volusia County, a 14-year-old student was arrested after joking about the shooting and threatening to “blow up” and “shoot up” his classroom, deputies said. The Heritage Middle School student is facing charges of a false report of a bomb and disrupting a school administrator.

Sheriff Mike Chitwood said Volusia deputies investigated 15 false threats in two days.

A 16-year-old former student at Leesburg High School was also arrested after posting on Snapchat that he was going to “shoot it up,” the Lake County Sheriff’s Office said. The boy had no access to weapons and said he was joking, but faces a charge of disruption of a school function.

Earlier in the day, Lake County superintendent Diane Kornegay announced an increased law enforcement presence at schools, due to threatening online messages about Eustis Middle, Clermont Middle, Tavares Middle, Tavares High, Eustis High, South Lake High and East Ridge High.

She said none of the threats had been confirmed. Lake County Sheriff’s Office spokesman John Herrell called them rumors, saying there were “no actual threats specific to any Lake County Schools.” In order to ease anxieties, extra deputies will patrol the schools next week, he said.

Still, some parents opted to remove their kids from school.

“My kids will not be returning until Lake County gets a grip,” Crystal Bain said as she left Tavares Middle School after picking up her two daughters. Bain was headed to Tavares High and Tavares Elementary to pick up a son from each school. “My kids will not be a casualty.”

She said the district needs to provide more security.

“Too much going on in society today,” said Jacquelyn Smith, another parent picking up a child at Tavares Middle. “Don’t want to take a chance.”

Cpl. Sarah Coursey said Tavares police were “investigating the validity of any and all threats made, but there is no reason to panic at this time.” It was Tavares police who alerted Lake deputies to the post that led to the arrest of the student in Leesburg, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

In Orange County, Gotha Middle and Thornbrooke Elementary were placed on lockdown Friday after three men — one of whom appeared to have a gun — were seen in woods nearby, the Sheriff’s Office said. Deputies found the men and determined they were carrying airsoft guns.

A brief lockdown at Windermere High was also lifted.

In Seminole County, Teague Middle School sent an email to parents citing “rumors about a threat circulating amongst students today around campus.” The school told parents that students were “completely safe and school activities are occurring as normal.”

Bob Kealing, a spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office, said there was no credible threat. But a stream of parents arrived to take their kids home. In an email, Seminole County Public Schools said the proliferation of “non-credible threats” in the wake of a high-profile tragedy is to be expected.

“These types of threats are no laughing matter,” the district’s statement said. “Please be warned that we have zero tolerance for this kind of behavior and any student caught making these types of threats will face serious consequences such as expulsion and potential criminal charges.”

Since the shooting Wednesday that claimed 17 lives at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, copycat threats have been percolating on social media.

Likely the most far-reaching emerged from South Carolina, where a teenager was arrested after sending a picture on Snapchat of himself in a mask, holding what appeared to be an assault rifle. The photo was overlaid with an ominous caption: “Round 2 of Florida tomorrow.”

Lt. Kevin Bobo, a spokesman for the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office in South Carolina, in an emailed statement said there wasn’t “any sort of connection” between the teen’s arrest and schools in Florida.

“Apparently the incident here… is resulting in the sharing of misinformation at a rapid pace,” Bobo said. “The continued sharing of that post is causing unnecessary alarm for students and parents of school-aged children” in Florida, he said.

Bobo said deputies were called by a parent in Spartanburg late Wednesday whose daughter had seen the teen’s threatening Snapchat post. Deputies identified the teen and searched his home, Bobo said, finding the mask and the gun — which turned out to be an airsoft rifle.

The teen “didn’t have access to any real weapons” and told deputies the post was meant as a joke, Bobo said.

The boy was arrested on a charge of disturbing schools.

In the aftermath of the South Florida massacre, Central Florida law enforcement have beefed up security at schools, including in Lake and Polk counties. And Orange County Public Schools Superintendent Barbara Jenkins said Thursday the district will increase random security screenings.

The FBI is taking a beating over this. It's been about 20 years since the Colombine shootings yet we have politicians who are still in office who have done nothing to help the problem.

Because treating minor symptoms doesn’t solve the problem.

Solving the problems entails

1. Stopping the progress of single parent households. Particularly the fact the courts predominantly rule in favor of The women and force the men out of the lives of children. Some 80% of all males in prison are from fatherless homes. All these mass shootings, what do they have in common? No dads.

2. Stop the feminist push of feminization of boys. Testosterone and Estrogen are different. Boys need to be in sports, need to be outdoors, need to be in some type of field where their minds and muscles are in use. This constant push of trying to neuter us is B.S. and it creates an almost shaming process. Emasculation is not healthy for a male psychology.

3. Put the classes back into school that encourage men to be men. As well as vocational schools that allow men to succeed in fields that are actually needed. Construction, HVAC, Electricians, Mechanics, Agriculture, etc are all global industry that can take you anywhere. You know what doesn't? Liberal Arts. Teaching. Psychology.

4. Gun free zones. Why, when banks are protected by FDIC, are they protected by armed guards but a school? Teachers with pencils. In 1991 when gun free zones became the push, you think it's any coincidence where rhe shootings transpire and where they don't?

The last 50+ years we have made this push in this country for "equality" and in this renaissance, boys were left behind. This is the leftist agenda.

1) She worked with the Sheriff but did not know he was married...... :thought
2) If this were real, surely he would have been investigated.
3) Why would a hot teen bang an old guy anyways.... :thought
4) Why did her parents not pursue legal action?

:dunno
