That sucks ass. I go out on the kayak and listen to iheartradio with wifi turned off of course so it's not searching. I can be out there for 3-4 hours and hit 50% if I'm not on it at all taking pics, recording the fish, or other stuff too. I go out there in the summertime and kayak/fish for 8 hours and don't run it dead. Don't listen to music the whole time but I use it a lot.

iPhone 6s that I think I got back in May 2015 so 2.5 years old

Been 10 years since I used iTunes so no clue if it still works, but back then I just plugged my phone to my pc with a usb cable and copied all the songs in iTunes and pasted them into my phone's music folder.

My iPhone 5 was still working until November when too much water got spilled on it and we didn't know so we didn't get it dry fast enough

They admitted to slowing them down because of the battery.

I will say my phone has shut down two or three times now. The last time it shut down at 25-30% left. I wouldn't update to make it slower just for that though. I'd rather just replace the damn battery.

They also started the slowing down at... 10.2.1 :biglol

It is just a regular file copy/paste with Android connected via USB. You should be able to play m4a files on any music app.

You can also upload your iTunes music to Play Music for free (10,000 songs are free, more cost). Unless you want to migrate to Play Music, I don't recommend this because of the fact that they content-match instead of using your actual file, meaning a lot of explicit songs are IDed as the clean version and fixing it is a headache. Whoever wanted that functionality was a moron.

Amazon Music I think is another free cloud solution, but I haven't really used it. I usually buy MP3s from their site and keep the actual file.

I've had major problems out my first one the iPhone 4. Fucker just turned into a brick while in my hand within the first few weeks of having it. Then the replacement did it. Then a year later that replacement did it and AppleCare fixed it for me until I upgraded. The 5 and 6s have been pretty damn good for me. The 5 was still working until it got water spilled on it on our trip to Bama.

We have 4 in our house. I have never had a problem. I never upgrade IOS until like 6 months after it pops up telling me to.

Ashley's 4 didn't do what mine did. It was just weird. They replaced it for free because it was their fault. No structural damage, no water damage nothing.

She updates all the time, I never do, both have lasted and still working after 2.5 years. My phones still in better shape.

RE: Updates
Most hardware works best with the included OS version. Updating will usually add a few features that are personally helpful to you and a lot of features that aren't useful to you and strains the processor. Unless there is a must-have in the update, don't do it.

Google announced Android Go to perform better on bad hardware. It's a break from most companies trying to make things more complex and feature-heavy.
