Play Super Mario Bros as Link, Megaman, Samus Aran, etc...

I can't believe I just came across this game: Super Mario Bros Crossover. It lets you play classic Super Mario Bros as other NES characters like Link (from original Legend of Zelda), Megaman, Samus Aran (from Metroid), the dudes from Contra, Ryu (from Ninja Gaiden), and the tank from Master Blaster. Pretty sweet for some 80s nostalgia. And it's a flash game, so you don't have to install anything to play it. It has the ability to save your game, edit the map style (use tiles from different Super Mario Bros games) etc...

You need to have Flash Player, which is not as ubiquitous as it once was. Plus it was updated every other day to patch all the fucking security holes. HTML5/JavaScript games are the future.

Speaking of Flash games, we need to add an arcade section to TSH like VLE had.

You fuck... This will consume my night now. :toetap

Playing without a controller and using different characters is hilariously fun for some reason...

There's a way to play using a controller. You have to install a program called JoytoKey, which maps controller buttons to keyboard keys. I've been playing using a USB SNES-style gamepad.

And this is way more fun than I though it would be. Samus, with the fireflower, totally destroys.
