now that ascended shards can be exchanged for motes of light i am thinking about turning my 800 + shards into 400 and something motes

if i do this i can buy exotic engrams from xur to try to get one of the new exotics from the house of wolves DLC

would you waste a bunch of motes trying to get one particular helmet, or wait until next week to try to get exotic gauntlets ?
(there are more possible helmets than gauntlets so your chances of getting the gauntlets you want are much higher)
