Luck, Brees, Both Mannings, etc. They are not great they play in a time where playing qb is easy.
The 2004 "Manning Rule" literally changed the life of these people.
Look at manning from his first season through 2003 and he was just another guy.
Brees? The chargers drafted rivers to replace brees because he stunk.
The fact the majority of the new guys today all came up through without having to be accurate and it shows.
Brady, on the other hand, has been great post and are 2004
If anyone here really thinks watching qbs play today equates to greatness you didn't watch real football
QB play is easier...but to say Manning, Brady, Rodgers, or Brees aren't some of the top 20 QBs in NFL history is insane. Brady is certainly top five after his fourth SB ring there is no arguing that. Rodgers is insane and has no help in Green Bay with their average defense. Brees is on the decline, but the Chargers had a terrible group around him before being traded and no QB can be good without some help(except Brady...who makes everyone better).
Rodgers is doing nothing great. And if you think his offense has no weapons you, again, haven't watched the game. He inherited a team that went 13-3 and to the NFC title game the year before he started. He inherited Driver, Jennings and James in their primes. They drafted Nelson and a plethora of talented players to keep the system alive. Their defense has been good and bad but do not make it out that Rodgers is awesome. He plays reckless and gets away with I because you can't clobber WR's anymore.
Again, see when brees got drafted. Notice when he became a good player. 2004. Same year of the manning rule. Same year manning eclipsed the 30 TD mark for only the second time in eight years. The same coincidence that made his interceptions drop by near 100%. Pretty impressive huh?
When looking at the game as and the throw it is easy to see who can and would be great prior to 2004.
The few we can definitely compare are Brady, Bree's, and manning. Two of the three never did or won shit prior to 2004. The other? Has remained steady and constant all the way through with the exception of the one year the pats got him some talent, Moss, and we saw what he was capable of doing with that.
Today's NFL is garbage. Goodell keeps screwing it up. The manning rule really made this league bad.
