Couple of weeks ago I went to take my medicine, and something happened and I stopped. Then I got sidetracked and went to bed. In my mind I had taken it since I had done everything except get it out of the tray and actually take it.


Laid in bed from 9:30 til 4 am and couldn't figure out why I wasn't asleep. 3rd time I got up to go piss I looked at my medicine and it was still there.... :suicide2

I have a fall back pill in the event of something like that (Sonata)...it gives you about 4 hours of sleep, so you take it at 2, 3, 4 am depending on when you want to get up. :up

You can take Sonata(Zaleplon) with Elavil(Amitriptyline) they are not contraindicated...not sure about with Clonidine. :dunno

My GP originally put me on Elavil last May...then I was seen by a sleep specialist and he gave me Sonata to take if I woke up at 2-3am and I couldn't fall right back to sleep. The biggest problem with Sonata is that one develops a tolerance to it fairly quickly(at least I do), so using it every night is pointless. But when I'm having a fucked up night where I wake up and can't get back to sleep, i pop one and go back to sleep fairly quick.

I'm pretty sure the melatonin works. I did take 10mg of it but when I told my other drs she said not to. If you have depression and take over 3mg of melatonin it can make depression worse. If I have something to do the next day where I have to get up early and have to go to sleep fast then I will go ahead and take 2 melatonin and I get to sleep faster so yeah it works.

I just started the elavil because I'm pissing all the damn time. I don't have to piss that much during the day and I'll piss right before bed and then 10 mintes later have to piss again. So she put me on elavil. Before that I was on trazadone. Before that I was on Xanax which changed to klonopin with the trazadone.


I was on a different one a bit over 2 years ago that actually worked great for keeping me to sleep but I didn't remember bein woke up and stuff changed to where I needed to be able to wake up and functional so I changed off that medicine on my own. I was going to get back on it around this time frame but Ashley started having seizures after her dr up here decided that he didn't like the medicine she was on so now I'm not going back to it until she's seizure free on this medicine for a year or so.

I couldn't think of the medicine this whole time but just got it, it was seroquel and I think I'm going to ask about that other medicine

were you on Xanax and Klonipin at the same time? That's a whole lot of benzos. :shocker

yeah, seroquel works great, but it can have some seriously dangerous side effects (ie diabetes, etc.) I use it, but try not to stay on it for very long before switching to a different sleeping pill.

However I only took 3 pain pulls a day sometimes 4 when I would have to unload 6 ton of feed at the store then go to work at the rink as soon as I got off from the store.

Is usually take 1-2 somas throughout the day and 1 Xanax bar at bedtime. I never took all of it during 1 day, although I should have atleast 1 time just to see.


And I take elavil for both but I mean I'm on the elavil for sleeping but the elavil is chosen because it's supposed to help me quit pissing otherwise if not for that is probably be on something different.

Haven't noticed any side effects specifically from trazadone. I've had side effects from a few other medicines that aren't desirable but can be put up with.

I would be kind of scared of what you just told me had I not just had my thyroids checked and tested for diabetes, etc.... Had that stuff tested 2 months ago :up
