When you have the league's highest paid player at $12million/year, a first line center, who struggles to net 25 goals in 80+ games then the burden of blame falls on his shoulders. After all, isn't he supposed to be 'the best player in the NHL'? The blame also falls on the $23million goalie.

You want to give Sid the glory when they hoist the Cup, then he has to eat the shit when the team chokes.

Malkin has shouldered the load for years, Crosby isn't worth the paycheck honestly. Restructure his deal to $6-8million a year and he might be worth it as a set up guy.
