Debated watching Birdman. Based on the reviews, everyone either thinks "this movie, sucks! Nothing happens and it's all artsy ghey," or "all the people who gave it bad reviews are stupid and just don't get it. It's a metaphorical masterpiece!"

So... :dunno

Nightcrawler looks good but predictable.

I liked Gone Girl. Should be required watching for any man thinking about getting married.

Whatever you do, don't watch Whiplash... unless you're a studio musician. :yawn

I didn't like gone girl. :dunno

I watched it for Ashley. She had read the book and really wanted to see it so we watched it on netflix I think and then she ended up falling asleep or something and I watched it all just so I could make sure I was right about it but I just didn't care too much for it.

I can't recall ever hearing of whiplash but again my memory isn't the best, if I saw a preview it didn't make an impact.

I'll let you know what I think of the 2 I asked about. I have higher hopes for nightcrawler than I do birdman

Whiplash is about a drummer. He practices a lot. Plays fast. Hands bleed but he keeps playing anyway. The end. Guy from Farmer's Insurance commercials is his teacher / drill instructor.

I watched nightcrawler first while Ashley did other things. She didn't think she'd like it

What did you mean when you said it was predictable?

It was a good movie and yeah I predicted a good bit of it but I am pretty good at predicting things. So if you're good at that stuff then yea it is but if you're not or don't think ahead and just watch it it's not too predictable.

Started watching birdman but Ashley wasn't interested so I told her we could stop and I'd watch it later. Gonna watch it today.

Batfleck?

:nuhuh the Real Batman

They asked Keaton this

"Finally, Christian Bale recently said he felt jealous to see Ben Affleck wearing the cape and cowl—do you ever get that?"

No. Do you know why? Because I'm Batman. I'm very secure in that.

Nightcrawler is a modern day taxi driver meets wall street. Meaning you have a guy who is two steps away from soaring off the cliff while linking money as the ultimate goal. JG did a good job of bringing to life a serial killer hiding behind a camera. The satirical aspect is probably the scariest part. Seeing as the elements that are required to be his type of paparazzi is equally as demented.

Birdman was absolutely great. Young have to understand it is a loosely based adaptation of Keaton's real life career arc after turning down the horrible Schumacher batman. His actual character and sad breaking brings a lot to the forefront of missing out on life and all the trivial little things we do because we get caught up in our own ids. The really cool part is the filming too. Almost all the movie is a close up on whomever is speaking so as to truly capture the individual. Keaton's inner battle with the "bird" is quite fun too.

You can't gon wrong with either movie. They make you think and use a valid portion of your 10%. Another cool movie to take in is Boyhood.

Valid portion of your 10%? Do you mean your brain... Because you use every bit of your brain. The 10% thing is bullshit
