I have some fairly original ideas on how we could fix the government / society while catering to every group there is. I am sure all liberals would say these are bad ideas because they are so engrained in big government handouts and fear of capitalism.
Education
1. Create an online college that is run by a private company with the government like University of Phoenix and other large public universities could contribute to it.
2. Make it free for everyone and put information about where to get a GED prior to it.
3. Make it so you get free PDF books and if you want a paper copy the government would pay for half of it.
4. Get rid of all grants / federal scholarships and bad student loans for college to spark competition in the higher education industry, reduce waste in public universities and lower tuition rates. Either lower interest loans or no aid at all.
5. The free online college only requires that you do not fail out. If you fail out then you have to pay a small amount, if you fail out again then you have to pay a little more to get back in.
6. In the online college have tons of free continuing education courses and training information so people can teach themselves skills, give a completion letter or certificate with a test at the end of it so they can use this on their resume, similar to lynda.com, cbtnuggets, ed2go.com etc.
7. Use local community colleges / public universities specifically for classes that need to be done in person like public speaking, working with circuit boards or something of that nature.
8. If you have kids and are a single parent you can get a voucher for daycare for 5 hours a day for the periods of time you are taking online courses, you must be enrolled and you must maintain a certain grade point average or the vouchers would be cancelled.
Now no one can complain about not being able to get an education, also this would save billions of dollars in wasted grant money and prevent people from getting into loans that they cannot get out of, it would also increase the skilled labor force.
Healthcare
1. Get rid of Obamacare, go back to how things were but with the following changes.
2. Allow people to get insurance across state lines like car insurance. Car insurance covers way more shit and cost the same or less as health insurance, the reason is competition.
3. Cap the cost of every surgery / hospital stay there is. Cap the cost of all pharmaceuticals at hospitals and anything else that is out of control.
4. Open up urgent care and family care centers in every major city in the country similar to how the VA works or fund existing healthcare centers while those are being built. Patients would get a certain number of visits free if they are below a certain income level.
5. Keep medicaid, medicare how it was before.
6. Rather than taxing people if they do not get insurance, give people that get it a tax BREAK.
I am positive this would be cheaper than Obamacare and would not hurt the middle class near as much as Obamacare.
Taxes / Economy
1. Slowly get rid of income tax and replace with national sales tax
2. Slowly get rid of the IRS how it is and leave a small part of it for auditing businesses with sales tax and for auditing government spending.
3. Stop putting people in prison for evading taxes, fine businesses dramatically or shut them down if the evade taxes, personal people cannot evade taxes because it is all sales tax.
4. Make some things tax free. Houses under 100k, Cars under a certain price or gas mileage and price, Soap, Shampoo, Tooth Paste, toliet paper, Milk, Baby food, Water, Meat, Veggies, Fruit, etc. Make more expensive items taxed higher like cars over 50k, private jets,houses over 300k, etc would get taxed a higher percentage. This would make sure poor people that could not afford the tax could still avoid it for the most part as long as they are not buying big screen TVs, Cigarettes, Beer etc.
5. Slowly make it more and more expensive to outsource and import goods. Increase taxes every year for about 10 years until it is more expensive to use India / China then it is to use the United States for production.
6. Give large companies that produce products 100 percent here or have 100 percent USA employees and Contractors a reduced tax rate.
This would make everyone pay taxes, illegals, homeless, tax evaders. It would save billions annually on court fees, prison fees, IRS agents, CPAs, Tax Software, etc. Rich people would still pay a ton of taxes unless they did not spend a lot, which they still would because they would have more money to spend and they love their luxury show off items. No one could complain about it being unfair and this would allow people to catch up if they were behind, just purchase less shit and only essentials if you fall behind in money.
The economy would be boosted by increased production and jobs would be increased by a more skilled labor force and less dependency on foreign products.
Government Agencies / Government waste, etc
1. Cut the IRS in half after reducing the income tax to 0.
2. Reduce overall government regulations, there are too many taxes, rules, fines, etc.
3. End the war on drugs, make more drugs legal like weed but with fines if you misuse it. Get rid of all prison sentences for drug use unless you are neglecting a child or driving an automobile on drugs.
4. Reduce the size of ATF, Homeland Security, Reduce DEA, Board of Education, FCC and other unnecessarily large agencies.
5. Cut all foreign aid to countries that do not have our interests in mind like Pakistan, Saudia Arabia etc.
6. Move a significant number of troops from overseas to home. We do not need to protect, Japan, France, UK, etc. they can protect themselves wtf do we pay to protect the whole world? If something bad happens then do something.
7. Put some of those soldiers on the boarders and close the boarder better
8. Deport everyone that is caught illegally in this country and quit playing games
