I thought the more important thing about lent was giving up something else in an attempt to better yourself. Much like a New Year's resolution.

And I certainly don't see how this would mean there is more fish/shrimp available during lent. :?

Like EB said down where he lives I can't see how it would make a difference, but around here there are a lot of restaurants that add fish/shrimp options that are not usually on the menu. Since it is not regularly on the menu those meals usually suck :lol:

Well the rule isn't that they can't eat meat, it is that they cannot eat the flesh of warm blooded animals. And technically it is only 2 days they are not supposed to eat that, but most do it every Friday until Easter.
