As per the history course, I think they need to be updated and changed. They need to have a mixture of everything taught with it all being taught correctly.

I've been on my :rant about this since I first heard of this bullshit. Even more pissed off when I saw it first hand with my niece and nephew.

I show my niece the way we was taught and it's so much faster and easier for her.

Not only is the common core making shit more complicated but they are having to rely on that stupid addition solving equation or formula or whatever they call it for basic fucking math.

These kids aren't learning how to add and subtract in their heads. They want them to have to write all the shit down and then work it out in a far more fucked up way instead of the

Presidential speeches aside, what about slavery, women's rights, and similar historical issues that don't paint the rosy pro-American picture many conservatives want in their classrooms?

GA is trying to outright toss them out of the history books like they never happened, and instead focus on "Social Studies – and Science – standards must be Georgia-owned and Georgia-grown."

Um, :wtf is is Georgia owned/grown in US history? Slavery and poverty are the 2 things I can think of.

I said the GOOD THE BAD THE UGLY.

We had slaves we used slaves we had a civil war NOT for the freedom of slaves but for STATES RIGHTS, and in the end the north won by having factories and government manipulation (congress giving extra stuff to states who chose the north and threatening any and all who dared to help the south) and some bad mistakes, accidents, and at the end piss poor strategy in some places.

Even after the north won it took a long time for them to all get their freedom then their rights, etc..

However ALSO teach that the GOP are what helped end the Jim Crow laws and change all of that. They were fighting the democrats in congress and democrats around the country and if Lyndon B Johnson didn't have the Republicans fighting for black rights then they wouldn't have gotten anywhere anytime soon.

Like I said you can teach it ALL but if you want to teach the bad then also teach the best about our country.

If you want to teach about "the north fighting for the blacks" when the south succeeded over states rights then add it all in.

Then later tell the truth about the Democrats fucking the blacks over and The Republicans and Democrat president Johnson help do away with Jim Crow
