He isn't even top 30 in goal scoring :gtfo

Give me St Louis any day over Cindy as a set up man.

Meanwhile, NASH leads the NHL in goals :umad

put crosby back in the 80s with shitty goalie equipment and some goon on his line to defend him and he would blow gretzkys numbers out of the water

Who won the Conn Smythe when the Pens won the Cup?

Malkin, MVP for being the best player and carrying the team.

How many goals did Crosby total for the entire last post season?

One. :biglol

Sorry, a guy who racks up assists but doesn't score a lot can't be considered the 'best' player on any sport.

That's like saying John Stockton was the best player during Jordan's era.

Granted, set-up guys do deserve credit and their share of conversation but the glory of being the best always goes to the goal scorers/goalies, point scorers (NBA), HR hitters/pitchers.

Ok, I looked at Dupuis' numbers this year:

6 goals, 5 assists, 11points, he's played in 16 games which just proves that you don't watch/listen to the Penguins AT ALL. :roasted

If you're trying to make a case feel free to actually look at the numbers and post the statistics instead of being a lazy shit and looking retarded. :justsayin

What case are you attempting to make - that good players make Cindy's assist totals go up? That's all I got from that.

Crosby's been the beneficiary of one of the deepest teams in hockey for his entire career and has been mentored in person by Lemieux his entire career, and he still hasn't cracked 20 goals this season.

So now you're ignoring Dupuis' numbers even though you brought it up?

I'm not searching or posting shit, that's your job if you want to try and make a point.

I can easily make the argument players have benefitted more from Malkin's constant production as opposed to Crosbys lack thereof. :justsayin

sby's most common linemates in recent seasons have been Chris Kunitz andPascal Dupuis. He's added David Perron this season.

Kunitz averaged 0.609 points per game in 315 games before coming to the Penguins; he has averaged 0.803 in 391 games with Pittsburgh. Dupuis averaged 0.386 points per game in 419 games before coming to the Penguins; he has averaged 0.559 in 434 games with Pittsburgh.

Perron is averaging 0.764 points per game in 17 games with the Penguins, all on Crosby's right wing. He averaged 0.600 points per game in his first 456 games with the St. Louis Blues and Edmonton Oilers.

You've shown no proof that any of these players are Crosby's "most common linemates", so until you can do that those #'s don't mean much.

Conversely, I can make the argument that since Crosby is in a 350 game scoring drought and is a first line player who gets the most ice time, that he is directly responsible for the statistics of his teammates going downward including the biggest stat of all - losses.

And don't even try to give me a player who's only played 17 games.

You haven't shown what a "below average" metric is for an NHL forward/center, so your numbers don't mean a whole lot to me.

Nash has more assists than Crosby has goals :ROFL and wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more goals which equates to the stat we all care about most -> WINS.

If Crosby's assists are so important, if he makes everyone so much better and if his lack of goal scoring is irrelevant, why has Pittsburgh been sent packing early and often in the post season for 4 years running even though they're spending more and more money securing talent?

if assists are so irrelevant why does the nhl count them as points?
