this is what boxing is missing

personality , swagger a little bit of insanity and a dude that goes for the knockout right away

boxing is paying its penance for destroying muhammed ali

he should have never been cleared to fight those last two fights that ruined his nervous system, and he wasnt cleared at first until vegas basically bought off the doctors and got him cleared, so the greatest fighter of all time is a shambled wreck the rest of his life

and now the heavy weight division, is a joke

I never heard about that, so I have no idea if that's legit or not. :dunno

Regardless, kids today are infinitely more pussified and have wayyyyyyyyyyyyy more sports to get into now. Very few people want to get punched in the face and body 24/7 when they can get paid to go skateboarding or bmx and shit.

Mike was a hard hitter!

Knocking people out with both and hands, and the unheard of body shot from time to time.

He used to bust open 300lbs punching bags! :shock

honestly i would love for heavyweight boxing to make a comeback, but the klitschko brand of boxing is too boring, and the fights arent nearly as pumped up or promoted without the ultimate shit talker don king stirring things up

apparently there is a new undefeated american boxer who is 33-0 with 32 knockouts named deontay wilder, 96% knockout rate :shocker

i would love to see this guy beat the russian and make heavyweight boxing relevant again

he kind of swings wild and has poor form, but he always goes for the knockout, which makes for a much interesting fight

klitschko is a more techinal polished fighter and would probably win, but its exciting to think of a young undefeated knock out type boxer who goes for the haymaker often

If Wilder fights Klitchko and wins boxing will be reinvigorated.

I doubt it. Heavyweights are dead regardless. The fact that it's on ppv and costs 60 bucks for a fight is what fucking killed it. If the shit was on nbc again people would watch

PPv rakes it in if they have a product. Tyson was on ppv, boxing wasn't going down then and Floyd is on ppv as well.

Things have changed since the 80s and 90s. It's just not worth it. They should fight on nbc. Floyd is the only boxer currently that can draw large ppv numbers

Floyd & Pac will still do well on ppv, maybe some others I'm forgetting.

Regardless, the only thing that's changed is the talent pool bc far fewer people get into the sport for a multitude of reasons.

If another Tyson-esque fighter came along ppv would soar.

Fucking WWE-ghey does ppv and rakes it in.

but its a two way street

boxing cant become a good product until it has fan support, i agree great fights and great fighters is how you get that, but if people dont watch a great fight how does it become popular again
